Chalky Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Radio 4 show just about to start profiling Roger Eagle. Might be of interest to some. https://www.bbc.co.uk...rammes/b01phf7l
Premium Stuff Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Yes, was just about to listen - they mentioned Northern in the trailer Cheers Richard
Premium Stuff Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) Think the Northern bit is over already They were talking about the Twisted Wheel and had "You Hit Me" playing in the background as the narrative said something like Roger wasn't really into this uptempo, dance music with lush orchestral arrangements ... Basically that was it - moving swiftly on then Cheers Richard Edited December 31, 2012 by Premium Stuff
Pauldonnelly Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 again BBC fooked up...Kim Weston you hit me right where it hurts while talking about the wheel Didn't expect much more to be honest....
Chalky Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 You don't expect the BBC or any other to do research do you Paul? Don't think it was ever intended to be about the Wheel and at just 30 minutes with a lot more to his life I didn't expect to much of a reference to his time at the Wheel. Interesting non the less.
Premium Stuff Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Yes, it was still a decent, different kind of show - and I did listen right to the end Very good for Radio 4 too. More like the kind of thing that Radio 2 does. Cheers Richard
Soulfinger Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I thought it was excellent; even if the NS element didn't stand up to the level of scrutiny it'll get from some Soul Source members. I'd been listening to R4 this morning on my way to work so it just came on as I started the car on my way home. Nice contributions from Les Hare, Tom Smith and C P Lee. Roger shaped my taste in music and I will always be grateful to him for lots of the live soul artists I would never have seen without his promoting.
nsoul2 Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Having recently read the Bill Sykes book on Roger Eagle ,found it an interesting digest.. It is available on BBC iplayer or buy the book for the fuller story. Like others I was unware that it was to be broadcast, but happened to have the radio on whilst doing something else when it came on
