My next monthly Sunday Morning Soul show goes out on Sunday 6th January at 10.a.m. on Solar radio. (Sky 0129).

This month we're featuring legendary songwriter / producer Ken Williams. With an amazing pedigree of songs to his name I caught up with Ken just before Xmas so you can hear about some of the groups he worked with (and there are many!) including one that had a singer that looked liked Doctor Spock! I'll be playing plenty of his productions and songs from Bobby Treetop, Spellbinders, Superiors, Main Ingredient, Margaret Reynolds, J.R.Bailey, Chuck Proffitt, Ike Lovely etc etc.

You'd be amazed at how many great records Ken was behind.

As you say everything from the Spellbinders to Alicia Keys and everything in between demonstrated what a huge influence Ken was - fact !!

Even though Ken struggle to remember his most popular recording of "Soft sweet music and you" - But could recall a moment of writing for Tom Jones.

I was so unaware of Ken's connections with Alica Keys - propelling Alicia to world wide statues with her hugest hit. Great !!

Looking forward to the Miami themed show next month.

Just goes to show that many blinked soul folks do really need to open both there ears and learn - and continue too do so. .

Thanks.

Hi Steve - Troy Dodds "See No Evil" is this well known or just a rare obscurity !

Very unknown around our neck of the woods !

Hi Nick, Troy Dodds is a "tape swappers" type thing, not unknown but not played much and not really rare either. An issue copy with a B side is harder than a double sided demo.
