Soul-slider Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Ok, not so long ago there was an influx of the Goldmine CD's 'For Millionaires Only' volume 4, selling for anything between 99p- £5. Now there seems to be an endless supply of volume 2. What I want to know is, what happened to volume 3? That seems to be the hardest one to obtain, why is that?
Patto Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Always thought the Millionaires series and the Allnighter series were the best things Goldmine put out and i still have them all,but didn't realise Millionaires 3 was any harder than the others.Does vol 3 command a higher price.
Soul-slider Posted December 29, 2012 Author Posted December 29, 2012 Not sure if it commands a higher price but it's definitely hard to get (so is vol 1 but I have that one). I been trying for a while and they never turn up on ebay.
Stevie Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Vols 1 and 3 are the two that I've got. Used to buy a lot of CD's back in the day and never bothered with 2 and 4 so guessing they're not as good? 1
Pete S Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 It must only be about 4 years ago that I was selling them 3 for 10 quid. Then again, I suppose it's supply and demand, the long they are deleted, the harder they are to find.
Chalky Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 What is the going rate then for these today?
Steve S 60 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Can anyone confirm that the "Unknown Female" credited with "You'll Always Be In Style" on Volume 4 is The Ad Libs? 1
Windlesoul Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Amazon listed one of the volumes for £95 at one point I think!
Quinvy Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Surely if demand started to rise Timmy could re issue them. But would you play it out?
Ric-tic Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 remember vol 1 was was supposed to be a very limited edition hence original £20 price tag, then you spent the next 5 years stepping over them in the street.....

Pete S Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 I put all 4 on Amazon. I got £50 for one of them. £20 for another, £15 for another and I still have one.
Steve S 60 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Just got 1, 2 and 4 off Amazon for less than £25 for the three. 1
Rick Cooper Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Fell for Tim Brown's "limited edition" hype so bought them all on release. Also got "For Modern Millionaires-volume 1" GSCD139. Is this common and was there a Volume 2? I was told Unknown Female on "You'll Always be in Style" (post 7 above) was the Ad Libs . Seems likely but was it confirmed or is it another myth. Rick 1

Seems likely but was it confirmed or is it another myth. Rick It was confirmed by Sidney Barnes way back in the earl 2000's, would be 2002/3? when he was at the Dome, someone played it when it was still played as Patti Austin and his ears pricked up and said hey this is the Ad-Libs. It has since been released on a CD "The Ad-Libs The Blue Cat Years" complete with studio chatter whilst laying down the track and another alternate take. 3
Chalky Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 What do the cds normally sell at. I've around 100 Goldmine/SoulSupply which I might sell, they never get played and are gathering dust.
Chalky Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 I've also the very first cd (or so I believe) Rare Soul On Cd, what is that worth these days?
