Northernguy Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 There has been a guy on ebay putting these out every few months for a while now so obviously has a few. If you stand by me is the better but difficult to put a value on it. First one he sold went for 1400 usd with 11 bids the last went a couple of days ago for 499 usd with 1 bid. In the past when there has been a "find" so to say the desire to own one and the value has decreased. It's never been listed in price guides. So what is the value. ta Alan

Larsc Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Current value is apparently $499. Unless he found an endless amount of copies value will probably go back up in a few months.
boba Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 That's the game of record collecting, trying to guess when copies are gone and something has bottomed out and buying low. If you miss out you end up having to pay a lot more. Either way, seller is not just dumping quantity so he's regulating the supply / price some. Also, yesterday was not exactly the best day to sell a record on ebay given the holidays.
Raresoul45s Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 (edited) He's had them a while now and would not commit to quantity when I asked about it over a year ago, good tune. Best Darren Edited December 28, 2012 by BROWNIE

Ted Massey Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Its Willies daughter that has them he is acting as an agent for her

boba Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Even in relatively small amounts I don't think finds ever really recover their value. I disagree. Unless they are "3 known copy" finds where the value is held up by like 4 top collectors, small finds will hold their value and often increase the value by exposing an obscure record.

I'm thinking of the likes of Four Tracks, Arthur Freeman that are 2 that spring to mind. Hardly get any plays now, often on lists and if you put a want on here you would have quite a few replies in minutes. These were demanding alot higher price than you would pay now since more have been found.
Chalky Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 I wonder how many Rod Dearlove had (Small Society) or did he just have the one? One of his shouts late 80's/early 90's. 2
Jnixon Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 did anyone on here get a 2nd chance offers on either of the 45s most recently sold by him/her?

I didn't realise Dear Glove had it that far back.....I am certain he didn't have (m)any for sale.....or else I would have picked it up then rather than a couple of years ago. Sean Hampsey Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Think Rod had just the one Chalks. Never had it listed for sale. Yes, late 80's / early 90's Thorne spin. Sean
