Greety Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Whilst cleaning the windows at Costa Coffee saturday morning, I was stopped in my tracks by this pounding ditty coming from the speakers. I know its not much to go on (at least I'm not singing it to you) but can anyone identify this tune? Girlie group dancer (would have been massive in the early 70's), very catchy chorus, which has the lines "Before you walk out the door, all I'm asking for, will you be my baby". It's driving me crazy. Could be an original 45 from back in the sixties or a very good retro sounding record. Two records before can you believe it was Bobby Womack "Looking for a Love". Hell, with music like that, shelling out three quid for a coffee seems a bargain! Merry Christmas everyone.
Bo Diddley Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Is it the ex-Mrs Depp, Vanessa Paradis - Be My Baby?? https://youtu.be/2xdy8QGD4Q8 Kev Bod

MrsWoodsrules Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Great record... Here here & it always had that pounding tempo and reminded me of a Northern monster. Aid.
dthedrug Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 HI Yes it's a cracker, sounds like a 6ts PYE RECORD, However the drummer sounds like a 16 year old on a OLYMPIC PEARL KIT the beat is fine, but to tinny and not in the groove, maybe of a reapeted loop tape? mmmm i'll give it 5

Ian Parker Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 HI Yes it's a cracker, sounds like a 6ts PYE RECORD, However the drummer sounds like a 16 year old on a OLYMPIC PEARL KIT Tut tut Dave , I'll have you know, I own 4 vintage Olympic kits, none are made by Pearl, they're all Leicesters finest. PREMIER ! It was probably kravitz who played the drums himself, proper vintage vibe to the song , love it! Anyway, happy new year, I'll give it 8 .
