TOAD Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 re reggae 45s and im not sure if its a myth it is said some suffer from poor recording due to sand / dust getting onto the stampers they had to get air conditioning installed
Dean Rudland Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Arctic would have been safe at Jamie I think, dunno about TK. Some companies did lose the lot but not too many and even if they did there are often copies to be found through producers, European licensees or other sources. The TK reissues that have been coming from Henry Stone are virtually all dubs as he lost the rights and the tapes to Roulette, and then to Rhino in the States and EMI in the ROW. The ones from EMI or Rhino are mainly from master tapes.
Guest OSCARP Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 It was good and much appreciated answer from Ady,hope someone involved in the grapevine re-issues,outta sight etc. could give us some insight to if they use tapes or dubs from vinyl. From the views on this post seems lots of people are interested . Anticipating more answers. Barry
