Thanks Sebastian, but have they the same version of "Welcome To All This Love Again" or are they different?

Dyson was putting stuff out as and when he could, adding tracks etc. Not uncommon, they are on his label and he probably sold them locally at gigs etc. I did know the full story once, I'll see if I can find it.

These are all legit 70s presses. He only has "permission" to play the first one? Seriously?

EDIT: I apologize if am misunderstanding and you are trying to tell him the best pressing or something like that.

Also, if you really want the first press, I'm pretty sure the pink version of the first LP is the first press.

You can play whatever version you like ! I'm not asking permission to dance to it !!! :)

Remember Stuart Cosgrove was big on 'welcome to all this love' early-mid eighties, but he also used to play the INCREDIBLE "we're two fools in love" ! Such great taste !

What happened was that John A had a small run on the album (pink copies) that he got from Dyson himself - 15-25 copies which he sold @ £15 each. I remember him saying the run was short and he probably wouldn't get any more. Stuart, I and 13-23 others brought them within a week of them arriving in Kings Lynn; it was one of those where John put a copy on the "pile" of everyone who was turning up that he thought had taste.....we championed the album in Blackbeat at the time too.

Cheers for that Steve, I do remember reading about it in BB too of course !

Funnily enough I've just been googling Stuart and radio Scotland are replaying his 'floorfillers' show from a few years back, its pretty much solid oldies but great to hear the enthusiastic tones of 'the man who fell from Perth' once more !!

Steve,i remember my mate buying the Pink/red label one (it was a reissue lol) and when we went throu it,there wasn`t much on it apart from Welcome to all this love again and Don`t worry about this jones (both very good tracks) which are on the Blue label copy.If you could highlight any others i might have missed, much appreciated.

I still think the Blue one is the lp to get(even if it`s 2rd press),gonna stick me neck out here: there`s also 4 other really good tracks which you won`t find on the Pink copy:

Till i`ve got this feelin of love.

Cry Sugar.

You and me.

Try me baby.

So m`lord,in this case,2rd press gets priority over 1st press :wicked::boxing:

Indeed + welcome to all this love again. I'll go and find the pink copy later Wayne.

Thing is, these things were totally unknown at the time, no internet, and nobody knew whether any more would ever turn up. No one here had ever played any of the tracks etc. So ya bought them while they were there. If you didn't you might not see them again.....but the internet changed all that..:wicked: .

Cheers Steve. .

That`s true,i was using jumpers for goal posts/playing run outs when they both came out  .Fair play you got a copy early  .

I do remember when i was after a copy, how little info most people knew about this in the 90`s re the repress/original .Think the internet`s been a great help rather then word of mouth. :g:

  • 4 months later...

ive  a sealed blue copy and no mention of a reissue so without breaking the seal how do i know if its the original or repress?
