Guest Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Very nice...is it the exact same recording as the US Decca release? 1
grant Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 first time ive seen one of those on Brunswick
Tlscapital Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 Hi Dave, yes it is totally with same with same flip side 'live and learn'. It's maybe my third copy in 25 years of record hunting. Never seen a picture sleeve to it though. Same goes for the Belgian Brunswick of the Artistics 'the chase is on' and the Bunny Sigler 'comparetively speaking'. I've asked some people around and never had a reliable source proving me otherwise. Only the Sam & Bill Belgian Brunswick of 'I'll try' has a PS defo. Voila. Cheers, Tim
Guest sharmo 1 Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 how much is it ? and out of intrest how much does a decca one go for theses day's regards S.

Cheers, Tim Tim there may not have been a pic sleeve. It's part of the Decca group and I've had Belgian copies of American Poets (London) and Frankie & Johnny (Decca), they definitely did not have sleeves...though the Knickerbockers "Wishful Thinking" did...
Sebastian Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 (edited) Are you sure that it is from Belgium? BIEM is a french organisation. SABAM is its belgian counterpart. Edited December 19, 2012 by Sebastian
Tlscapital Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 70 £, sorry price is in title, will correct that ASAP. USA Decca price tag today ? Would say in that region ? how much is it ? and out of intrest how much does a decca one go for theses day's regards S.
Tlscapital Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 Yes it is Belgian, I'm not a specialist as such, but Belgium releases seemed to have use for some reasons the copyright organisation from both Holland and France untill the late 6T's. I never ventured into this but maybe Decca France was the main 'Decca house' for central Europe and since Sam & Bill 'I'll try' also had a release in France on Decca, the Copyrights stayed in France. Guess... Are you sure that it is from Belgium? BIEM is a french copyright organisation. SABAM is its belgian counterpart.

Tlscapital Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 Hi Pete, yes I've seen Frankie & Johnny more than few times (promos and stock) now and indeed never with a 'picture or art sleeve'. Same goes for the American Poets, but I'd love to one day encounter a pic sleeve for my Belgian Artistics at least. Let me dream, wish & hope. Cheers, Tim Tim there may not have been a pic sleeve. Guest Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 70 £, sorry price is in title, will correct that ASAP. USA Decca price tag today ? Would say in that region ? Well, for rarity alone I'd say that is cheap! The US copy sells for £100 without too much effort, in my experience. If I didn't have a Japanese press I would have grabbed your copy for sure! Such a great slice of Northern Soul, regardless of any potential prejudices, shall we say.
Tlscapital Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 OK Dave, maybe I'd have push it a bit higher for a minty one or a promo (both I've never seen yet) and or picture sleeved, but it's a sale I needed to do. So, to make it easy a fair price for a fair condition is all fine. Cheers, Tim Well, for rarity alone I'd say that is cheap! The US copy sells for £100 without too much effort, in my experience. Tony Smith Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I've had one of these for years, got it off Mick Smith for a score. I believe Richard Searling's copy was one of these too?
Sheep Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Mick Smith has a Frankie + Johnny on Belgium for sale currently, £200 i believe.

Japanese Press Dave ? have you a scan ?
