Guest northwest vinyl Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 (edited) Hiya -- I picked up this copy of the Marvelettes "Keep Holding On" -- I've seen this record many many times, but only with the older style two globes label. I have never seen it with the newer Tamla one globe label until I came across this one. So is this a reissue? I hope this isn't a dumb question, just don't recall ever seen this record with this label... Edited April 25, 2006 by northwest vinyl
Dave Pinch Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 issued in 1965 originally.tamla didnt start using the box design until early 1967. hope this helps dave pinches

Cheapsiderecords Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Either way, it doesnt look as nice as the Globes label does it?
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Thanks...but I'm not sure -- why would they reissue a record so soon after its original release? It's not a ressiue, merely a continuation of having the original 45 in catalogue. many of Motown's biggest hits were continually repressed per the original 45s, albeit with whatever the current logo was at the time of the repress, until they introduced the "Motown Yesteryear" series in 1972. I've seen or have owned records as early as The Miracles' "Way Over There" on this style of label. Ditto things like the Temptations' "My Girl" and "The Girl's Alright With Me" on the post-1967 Gordy logo. They're all interesting, but essentially worth no more than a few dollars each, I'd say...
