Dobber Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 COULD SOMEONE SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS ONE,I HAVE THE RECORD BELOW: REGGIE ALEXANDER-ITS BETTER-BOSS NOW ITS SOUNDS LIKE ANDY WILLIAMS,I WONDERED IF HE IS THE ARTIST,BUT GOING UNDER A DIFFERENT NAME. ALSO THE B SIDE"CONFUSION" IS WRITER CREDITED TO A.WILLIAMS....BIT OF A COINCIDENCE! LISTEN TO IT AND SEE WHAT YOU RECKON! https://youtu.be/jP6rtrrAkr4
Guest gordon russell Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 MOST PROBABLY IS LOL..........never like this record despite the illustrious credits..........no offence to you fella, but it,s a beat ballady 60's pop tune..........
Dobber Posted December 14, 2012 Author Posted December 14, 2012 i like the production on the record...but if it is andy williams...it sours it a bit for me...no offence to andy,he was a great singer!

Pete S Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 (edited) I said exactly the same thing the last time this record came up. But A Williams is maybe Andre Williams? (Going back 15 years or so I think Ady compared the two in a Kent cd sleeve note) Edited December 14, 2012 by Pete S
Premium Stuff Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Could the 'A. Williams' even be a spelling mistake given that Herbie Williams of Pied Piper is credited on the other side 'H. Williams'? Just a thought. Richard

Premium Stuff Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 The writer credits on the bside are...a.williams s.barnes h.williams That blows my theory then I guess  Cheers Richard
Guest Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Mold sounds a bit like gold, but it doesn't mean it is! Eddie Parker sounds a bit like Eddie Floyd! Just coincidence I think!

Benji Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Reggie Alexander: Cheesy vocals but what a backing. Fantastic record. I love it.
Robbk Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Ha! Ha! You're kidding, of course! Reggie's singing is SLIGHTLY reminiscent of MOR's Andy Williams. But, this singer was Detroit's Reggie Alexander. I've seen his name on several other Detroit records. A. Williams is clearly Andre Williams, who worked on many Sport/Boss/Sir Rah productions. He had his OWN release on Sport, "Pearl Time". How could anyone think the "A. Williams" on this record is ANOTHER, different A. Williams? The odds are way too slim.

His "Pearl Time" sold more than any of The Dramatics records, and probably took second place to sales of ALL of their releases only to "You Don't have To Say You love Me" by The Four Sonics. Robbk Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 You're joking - right? Richard Now YOU'RE joking, right??? Actually, I wasn't. I write, (and draw) Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge stories for Dutch, Danish, and German Walt Disney publications. Some of my stories (5 to be exact) appeared in British Donald Duck Magazine during the early 1990s. Maybe that's why the Disney Comics experiment there failed?
