Markw Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 One which arrived Saturday morning - Thelma Jones; not the best nick but it is a corker of a record and not often for sale. Two purchased on Saturday night at Gloucester - The Charles IV and Bobby Angelle. The post is great, but nothing beats getting home from a night or niter with some great new tunes in your hands. 2
Mal C Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 (edited) Today's arrival. Superb. Charles Spurling ahh, was that you Mark, beat me to the punch, rarer on WD as apposed to a yellow me thinks, good price as well. If your looking to sell it, you have my number. Mal C Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 ...and bought about 30 seconds ago......... It's a great track this one, slightly strange one for me, I bought it in the 9ts for a fiver, and it came the day my mother died, in fact I got the news seconds after signing for it, so its for ever tied to that moment, I know thats a tad strong but I still play it, but I don't have many other 45's that take you to a certain moment in any other way, strong stuff I guess... Mal.C 1
Markw Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Lorraine Rudolph is superb. Took a long while before it had its day.

Cheapsiderecords Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Just did a couple of Value Villages (huge supermarket sized second hand shops) and got these two: Mike McDonald - God Knows - RCA Last Fridays Fire - I Cant Help The Way I Feel - LHI - not soul, obviously left behind a load of standard Motown charters on Canadian as they are impossible to shift now Also found 3 Jackie Mittoo albums - well the covers anyway, all the records were the wrong ones.
Guest posstot Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Only four recently, but 4 corkers, to replace the sold one LITTLE EDDIE MINT BRING YOURSELF BACK HERE MEMO WLP. A MEMO DEMO !!. J.J. JACKSON RING TELEPHONE..FALSE FACE EVEREST WLP ** Actually prefer the false face side, weird and wonderful. ** BEN HUGHES CRAZY MAN TRUE WLP JOHNNY ADAMS LET THE WINDS BLOW RIC ** Haunting early soul, with a softer vocal from Johnny, showing his range nice tune**
Guest drewid Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 think the theread is more about what you have just bought rather than what is your record of the day from your current collection, correct me if i'm wrong. This was done as a thread last year and was interesting to see what peeps were buying at the moment, not a bragging rights thread as Jim says, could be a £1 or £1000 record.
