How people make it difficult for you to even find a record:

I used to have this Jamaican blank copy of Dave Barker's version of "Out Of Love" and I always wondered if it came out on UK, but searched to no avail.

Then I found out it was actually issued here, but not as Dave Barker, but as Dave McLaren...and it wasn't called Out Of Love is was called Love Is What I Bring!

No wonder I couldn't find the bloomin thing.

Anyway I got one on Monday, £28, which considering I set the snipe at £88 I am quite happy with.

Sad thing is - it's nowhere near as good as I remember it

Went to a scooter parts fair the other w/e - not expecting anyone to be selling records:-

Four Tops - I just Can't Get You Out of My Mind, Probe

Gene Chandler - Let Me Make Love to You, RCA

Solomon Burke - Stupidity, London

1st two are pretty much mint in company sleeves, Solomon Burke is pretty beaten up, but as it's a LOUD record it's fairly un-noticeable through the speakers when played

£4 total for the above three

Had a few delivered over the Christmas holiday period but was sweating on this one which arrived yesterday as it's taken ages to get here.  It's a spare copy but even so I'd begun to fear the worst.

A pretty harrowing drive to St Catherines for the first show of they year, it is right by the lake and the white out conditions were pretty bad for a while. It is also minus 30 with the wind chill but I persevered and I was glad I did:

Lou Johnson - Unsatisfied - Big Top

Buddy Lamp - Confusion - Wee 3

Darrell Banks - Open The Door - Canadian Revilot - (resisted the urge to pay money for this and finally got one for $2)

NF Porter - Keep On Keeping On - Lizard

Emanuel Lasky - Lucky to Be Loved - Wild Deuce

Bobby Sull - Have To Be My Love - Tema

Gary Criss - Welcome Home - Diamond

Martha & Vandellas - One Way Out - UK TMG 621

Bill Blacks Combo - Little Queenie - UK London

Timebox - Beggn' - UK Deram

Rodger Collins - She Looking Good - UK Vocalion

Curtis Mayfield - Move On Up - UK Buddah

Andre Brassuer - The Kid - Congress

Tami Lynn and Doris Troy on Mojo

and a bunch more, Reflections, Contours, Four Tops, Flirtations, Elgins etc

Not a bad start to the year

Johnny Maestro and the Crests - Heartburn, £3.10 off Ebay with only two bidders. The vinyl was covered in grime but after a bit of a clean up it was a very nice VG+. It has only just gone into the box. Must have played it at least half a dozen times. Great "Oldie"

After going a bit overboard with the credit cards recently, I've had to reign in the spending a bit.  However, I did manage to pick up this long time want for less than £7 including delivery from Spain!  I've had a UK Tamla Motown release for years but always wanted a US original release.  The 'B' side to the more famous I'll Pick A Rose For My Rose 'A' Side, You Got The Love I Love by Marv Johnson on Gordy.
