Glynthornhill Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 If you know what you are looking for then why not sell them here first before Ebay? Answer please! Probably because we constantly get let down by reservers who fail to pay for the record lost count of the number of occasions on here recently sorry - putting rare vinyl on Ebay they sell 90 % rate and payment is prompt from buyers - Unfortunately not always the case on SSForum - and it is all about cash flow and turnover quickly for those of us who sell full time for a living.
Chalky Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 I may have missed this but isn't Northernsoulrecords.com Andy Dyson? Spot. No.
Sjclement Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Just browsing ebay and noticed a sandi sheldon demo, then looked at the sellers items and he selling a 100 other items mostly big money oldies sellers name is northernsoulrecords(1436) the sellers going to be in for a shed load of dough, is it anyone on here ,just curious Depends what he paid for them in t'first place realising investment an all that
boba Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Popsike does not index records that are "taken down", whatever that means (assuming it means ended early without bids). There also wouldn't have been bid type ended prices if that were the case.
boba Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 I'm not gloating pete, more like I told you so. I do agree with you about the trust thing and why were the said records on Popsike, but you only had to look at the guys e bay feedback plus a couple of members seem to know him, I was never in any doubt about the guys creditials, you're a record dealer pete and you know when you smell a rat but I personally didn't get this feeling about these records please list a record on ebay, "take it down", and give a link to the popsike indexed auction
boba Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 https://www.popsike.com/faq.html#q004 Which items are NOT included ? [top] lots and collections Unsold auctions Any other music format (CD, cassette, reel-to-reel, DVD etc.)
ste gal 7 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 the guy selling 3000 in lots of 100 from jersey, originates from bolton ( va vas) era ive met him in jersey, not a recomendation on his records just to let you all no hes a genuine guy and not a scammer.
Funky 4 Corners Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Following the notion that a Duke Browner pressing going for £120 is now the norm, I need not therefore ask why there's a Four Perfections on Soul Galore on ebay currently standing at £70. I am clearly out of touch with reality! 1
Pete S Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Eventually went for £80. Why do I only get 15 quid when I sell it
Swifty Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 the guy selling 3000 in lots of 100 from jersey, originates from bolton ( va vas) era ive met him in jersey, not a recomendation on his records just to let you all no hes a genuine guy and not a scammer. Are these on Ebay & have you got a link please ? Cheers Swifty
Funky 4 Corners Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I often wonder if young collectors in the USA for example are a) aware and b) bothered about originals, after all the Soul Galore 45 could still be older than many of them. In turn I must admit to similarly being fairly disinterested in such detail when I bought Doo Wop 45s in the US. But £80???? What's happening?
Funky 4 Corners Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Swifty, the Four Perfections has now ended but go to advanced search and then completed listings.

Roxie Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 I have dealt with the guy who originally posted all those top oldies on ebay and my collection is 8 sounds to the good I made offers on some over the phone and others left to auction, all arrived in fantastic condition and well worth it. My only complaint is he put too many on at once as I wanted about 90 of the 100 he posted but would have needed a bank loan to get them.
