Guest Trevski Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 £175! you'll be lucky! I have had a French copy, which is supposedly a superior sound quality to the Spanish release, in my sales box for weeks @ £50, no takers!
uni ted Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 thanks for that ,trevski,i also thought it was vastly overpriced.
Guest NASHEE Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Betty Everett-Someday soon....I was lead to believe that this was released only as an LP track. great record though...I've got it by Ann Margret...but betty's is better
Derek Pearson Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Hey up Dani - nice to have you aboard hows the sunshine in Valencia? Thought I'd seen that Pic & Bill 45 in your box at Lowton Trevski - wouldnt mind hearing it? onwards, derek
Guest Dani Herranz Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Thanks for the info on Betty Everett, I´ve got it in a CD but yes, it may be an album-only track, if someone would know the title and label it would be nice to know..........on the price side of Pic & Bill, Pat Brady´s got the french copy for sale for 175 GBP.....of course that doesn´t mean that´s its "real" price (what´s "real price" anyway?......), but I´m open to offers, thanks
uni ted Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 dereck,it is a class record, that deserves a lot more plays than its had,but that copy was overpriced. no offence meant. paid 40 uk for mine.
uni ted Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 p.s. also have the album on belper,french/spanish,can,t be bothered to dig it out now,but both great. with due respect to j manship would not use him as a price guide,as he only charges what idiots will pay.

Guest Stuart T Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 £175! you'll be lucky! I have had a French copy, which is supposedly a superior sound quality to the Spanish release, in my sales box for weeks @ £50, no takers! Yep but all the European issues of this are crap sound quality aren't they? US is the only way to go. Great Scenesville sound.
Guest Stuart T Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 big head,we are talking northern paupers here. It was a bargain honest. Anyone any idea what LP this is supposed to be on and if its obtainable? Or have I got that wrong?
Thorsten Wegner Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 I have the US Charay, i got my copy from a US dealer for a fiver 8 years ago. This guy had at least 50 copies of "Talk about love" ... but i only bought 1 back then Thorsten PS: There is a German Pic & Bill album incl. "talk about love" but the sound is crap
TheBigO Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 So how much is the current price for the spanish Belter 45 with p/s? Hav it on the shelf so would like to know.
heikki 1 Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Yep but all the European issues of this are crap sound quality aren't they? No, the sound quality on the French "Soul Record" release is really good.
Soulie78 Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 (edited) Yep, have to agree with Heikki, proper sound quality on the french soul record label. I'm playing it from time to time over here, but I don't know of the sound quality on the spanish copy. cheers, Martin Edited April 19, 2006 by soulie78
Dave Abbott Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 I AM AFTER THE US CHARAY COPY - IF ANY ONE HAS ONE PLEASE :-) (to agree with Heikki - i was told that the French copy was a better sound quality than the US one...)
Wally Francis Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 How much does this go for now Betty Lavette - Let me down easy - Carla
Sebastian Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 (edited) i was told that the French copy was a better sound quality than the US one... That's not correct. The sound quality on the french issue is however very good. The spanish one sounds pretty dull and distant. The US copies sounds absolutely superb and superior to the european issues. Definitely one of the best sounding and loudest 45s I've got (along with Fabulous Peps "With These Eyes"). "Talk About Love" was released 3 times on Charay, two times as Pic & Bill with different flipsides and one time as The Fiery Spartans with an instrumental on the flipside. The Fiery Spartans release was the first one, as Charay 74. Both of the Pic & Bill issues are Charay 99. Very confusing. Despite being issued 3 times it is a seriously hard record to locate. It hardly ever turns up for sale. Edited April 19, 2006 by Sebastian
davidwapples Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 sopld a mint us talk about love for 225 bout 18 months ago

I think it sounds comprerssed. Mixed too quietly or something but maybe thats because the US one is very loud (as Sebastian says).
