Could be. I can only really remember Guy playing it. Though I dont doubt Keb did play it, I always associate him with the faster stuff.

the opening monologue is dreadful, hence the Laura Green Cover up name, but once she starts singing it is oh so soulful.

Actually chaps, I played The Invitations "Look On The Good Side" at The Charade in Rotherham as a new release (in 1974) some 10 years prior to Stafford... alongside Brothers Guiding Light "Getting Together", Dramatics "Choosing Upon You" the 'other' Invitations track "They Say The Girls Crazy"... and other such 'newies' of the day.

By the time it made Stafford I'd already hammered it (as a moldie oldie) at Clifton Hall (Rotherham).

I believe that it was also played at the Mecca when new, or soon after.

Valerie, is absolutely one of my fave's all time. I cant believe I missed you playing it at Stoke last year. (Janine kept me talking out by the record bar)

Havent thought about the Fabulous Moonlighters for years, but what a great smooth tune.

Porgy was one of the other Dursley boys fave's, tho I thought it was a bit too slow.

Whereas Gino is as slow as hell, but absolute perfection.

One you havent put on there but I always associate with you at Stafford is Gladys Knight - Its too late (as discussed on another thread), and I know this isnt supposed to have any 70s+ on this thread, but Marlena Shaw - I just want this feeling to last, Glenda Mclode - No Stranger to Love AND sitting in your old Viva at Coaley Village Hall listening to Luther Vandross - I'll let you slide

The Fishburn & Francis, "give me some love" came out on a cool little Detroit label called AIP International, which has one or two other killer releases.

Secondly I never claim to play any record first, to be fair I couldn't care about all that "who played it first" shit.
