OK Jim. One more. its one I can never remember the title of.

It is on the Leicester anniversary video. Keb is plying it downstairs.

Its a real 100 mile an hour tune and has some lyrics in it that vaguely go along the lines of

............love affairs

i found you my love

........

now that I felt your thrilling touch

i miss your lovin Oh so much

Hey hey. I didnt you didnt love me

or something like that.

I have it on a tape, but STILL cant rememeber artist or title.

Another that doesnt get mentioned to often.

might have been covered as

The Ringleaders - Stop the World (I wanna get off)

Posted

Although not my favourite ... this is definitely the record i most identify with Stafford more than any other ...

SUSAN REWIS - THEY SAY YOU'VE FOUND A NEW BABY - COLUMBIA

Of course c/up as Demita James & the Wild Side - All the hurt & You ..... can still hear Guy introducing it now ... great stuff :)

The Cindy Scott tune Simon - is that the one where she starts wailing with little or no backing intro, then goes into a thunderous beat - Guy H spin? If its the one I'm thinking of what a tune!

Wasn't Bernadine covered up as the Teen Turbans - Say You Love Me

I remember when Ion used to play it, and Carl Fortnum can be made to play it these days. One of them records that I've loved since the first time I heard it!

I'm too young to have gone to Stafford or even Leicester so I cannot add any memories to this list!

Kirtsy got the Fred & Turbines right  Kitch bought Ion's copy if I remember rightly.

Can't recall or remember Del Chantays being covered

Michael Christian was covered as Nolan Chance & Constellations by Pat Brady.

Two Plus Two covered by Butch as Servicemen.

You are obvioulsy thinking of Gerri Diamond from your relpy you Chalky. However, Guy & Keb also used to play another 'wait for the beat' i.e. Patti Livingston - I've got my baby, now that does start with a bit of wailing!

I am/was. Can remember the Patti Livingston too, infact bought my old copy from Guy back in the 80's. Might be worth a few spins again.
