Dont get the the french Ep copy. The sound is low.

Kev.

Heard this comment regarding this and a other various E.P. releases, and whilst true, I don't see the problem....you simply increase the volume control (whether DJing or playing at home)??????????????????

This is a serious reply, not a pisstake....just wondered why it is an issue with some people?

If the quality of the sound gets distorted if increased I could understand it????

I have a few EPs in my playbox, inc the Helen Troy & Anna Belle Ceasar and the lower sound level doesn't really cause a problem thumbsup.gif . I think most EPs have a lower output level due to the grooves being a lot finer/lighter

Is it true that the quality is actually better, though lower (as L.P.s supposedly)???

Got the Helen Troy on E.P. and had the Anna Belle Caesaer Vegara E.P. which I sold to Hoss, who sold on to Carl Willingham.

Don't actually collect pic sleeves E.P.s etc myself, so will usually sell them on to some-one who actually appreciates them if I can replace with normal issue / demo 45s, but not because of sound level.

Hi Mace,

the sound on the Helen Troy is crystal clear. The Anna Belle Caesar does seem a little bassy, but not having had the either U.S. release on Glad Hamp or the Carlton boot to compare it to, I dont know if its anymore bassy than it should be (if that makes sense??)

I dont actually collect pic slv EPs either, it just turned out that these were both cheaper then the equivalent U.S releases when I bought them.

Had all 3 releases of Little Annie, and found sound quality pretty much similar on all 3 (though lower on E.P)

Played Helen Troy off E.P. in past (though not played it out for quite a while) and did not find volume a problem, other than increasing volume slider on mixer to compensate, then returning to previous setting for next record.

I have a very nice US WD copy in Kapp bag, old store stock that I picked up in the states a few years a ago. Has some authentic red crosses on label, PM me if anyone wants to make me an offer?

Yep, my nice Helen Troy French ep that landed in the post earlier this week sounds great turned up, no distortion, just a slightly lower level that's all. Set me back EUR200 or £130ish mint with a mint picture sleeve

Found one last month for 8 euros ranting_1.gif
