Guest Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Can anyone tell me the going rate for this? Thanks! -Mike
Guest Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 I had this many many years ago- it sounded messy to me (basically if it was a 60's stomp stomp type of sound or a classic Stax/Atlantic style of cut I wasn't interested then) but I hung on to it for ages because it looked obscure and interesting and was a great title and group name. I would have got in Record And Tape Exchanges "1p" racks, which we used to raid and then take back the unwanted ones and they would give us 10p each for them ! God only knows what I missed. It used to be around a bit - Light Blue label with some kind of drawing on it maybe? Anyone got am mp.3 to jog my memory of how it sounded ?
Mark Bicknell Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 I think this track has been talked about on here before, about 50.00 quid at a guess, if you want it you can have mine....lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
Guest Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Play the other side! saw it for 20quid the other day (possibly on here) also Des Parker (Soul Inc) did have copies. Poor production, possibly Marsha was standing outside at the coffee machine when they recorded her vocals

Quite like the record (both sides) and the label but it is a bit of a mess!
Guest Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 (edited) The pyramid/eye sounds familiar Stuart. Edited April 13, 2006 by Simon White
Guest uroffal Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Can anyone tell me the going rate for this? Thanks! -Mike Have seen this recently for £75 on a few major dealers lists and for slightly less elsewhere - I have a spare if your interested £50. Flip is nice too as someone else already mentioned ... here's a sound clipdelwands_this_time__i_m_gonna_win_.mp3
Derek Pearson Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Was gonna stick this 45 on Ebay this week 'cos I hadn't played it in ages and couldn't remember why I kept it. On playing a minute of 'No hope' I thought "messy, going nowhere, £20 tops, Ebay". However on hearing 'Im gonna win' I thought "Mmm good but just missing something. Could've been much better (sounds like my school report). Worth keeping I guess". Surely no where near a £50-75 touch? Its the Earles Inc 45 on Zudan 5017 that you all need "Just an Illusion" now that is a real nice sound. derek will post up scans tonight of both 45s if I remember before Lowton starts calling my name.

I certainly prefer the flip 'I'm Gonna Win'. Have seen at £75 on John Manship's, Pat Brady's and Craig Moorer's. Used to be dirt cheap this (so did everything), but the 'No Hope' side has had a few plays here there recently.

Reviewed them and circulated on tapes, no interest. Sold both for the same price, then the Earles gets played and talked about. And the price goes up. But why? It's average. Much prefer "This time". TRULY AWFUL>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>BOTH SIDES!!!! That voodoo lady outside the casino gave it to you!!!! She said that if you do not like it you are going to buy a record for top $$$$$ which will later sharply drop in price!!!! The only hint of which record it may be was.......It swims in the ocean and is very fast! Anyway, you were thinking sod it, paid her a few pennies and... some time later..... But she also said, once you start appreciating it....... you may have a chance to get a real bargain!!!!
