binsy Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Really underrated singer, I love 'Groove me' and 'I'm gonna fall in love with you'. Worth seeking out his 'Well Done' Lp shouldn't be too hard to find.

Worth seeking out his 'Well Done' Lp shouldn't be too hard to find. Sad to hear - good artist. Didn't realise Lynden David Hall recently died either from cancer I think. OK not a northern soul hero but he did cut some decent stuff in amongst all the crap that gets made today. RIP guys. ATB Rich
Guest Richard Bergman Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Really underrated singer, I love 'Groove me' and 'I'm gonna fall in love with you'. Worth seeking out his 'Well Done' Lp shouldn't be too hard to find. "I'm gonna fall in love" is a lovely cheap record on Chimneyville...almost like a 70's kids theme tune in places.
Sean Hampsey Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 King Floyd died from a stroke. Really loved his "Can You Dig It". If you don't know it I reckon it would be right up your street. A truly beautiful record. Also worth checking is the equally lovely "I'm For Real". RIP Sean Hampsey

Worth seeking out his 'Well Done' Lp shouldn't be too hard to find. ...don't forget "Handle With Care" and "Please Don't leave Me Lonely", Mark - what a couple of crushers they are !! BTW King's death actually made the national news on NBC's morning show on the day he died - shows just what sort of an impact "Groove Me" had for him to be remembered on a pan-America TV show that's watched by millions... Soul-slider Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 check out King's V.I.P album for Motown....'Take The Place Of A Dying Man' is an absolute corker just waiting to be added to the long list of non Motown 45 favourite plays!
Guest Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 Hi Everyone I did a couple of pieces on my blog when he died - a vastly underrated singer and another sad loss!! https://indangerousrhythm.blogspot.com/2006...ion-ledger.html https://indangerousrhythm.blogspot.com/2006...-floyd-rip.html Cheers Colin
