Anyone come across any other totally non soul souljukebox records! "Teach Me, Teach Me How To Twist" may not be very soulful, I admit, but the late James 'Shep' Sheppard and the Limelites absolutely qualify as one of the first real soul groups, and along with the '5' Royales they were among the first to move doo-wop forward into soul. Have a listen to any of these Hull 45s of theirs, and see if you don't agree afterwards: Gee Baby, What About You I'm A Hurting Inside Stick By Me And I'll Stick By You Our Anniversary Remember Baby Why Won't You Believe Me Ready For Your Love Daddy's Home ..to name just a few. The late Curtis Mayfield always considered Shep and the Limelites to be among his favourites in the early days of the Impressions, and the Limelites' influence on tracks like "I've Been Trying" and "I'm So Proud" is obvious once you've heard any of the above... Anyone come across any other totally non soul souljukebox records! Cracked me up when i saw that, & i used to have to keep playing it for my daughter. I also ended up buying it I was ordering some records from the states & there was a copy going for $1 so i bought it. Only trouble is , it's not the same version as the one on the Soulclub jukebox, seems there was an edited version because of a swear word or something ! Be great to slip it into a set wouldn't it ! " WELL IT'S ON SOULCLUB JUKEBOX SO IT MUST BE NORTHERN" !!! Edited April 5, 2006 by B-side-B
