Guest Andy BB Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Heard on my iPod this morning Young Holt Trio. Ain't there something money can't buy. Dunno how it got on there or what it came off. Was a live version, lasted a few minutes, broke into a 'wade in the water' parody for a few seconds.... Anyone know if this is available on a 45/EP? (It's not for me you understand, make a cracking birthday present for a Mod friend) Thanks in advance you big lovely bunch of know-it-alls.
Guest rachel Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 It's on the 'Soulful Strut' LP... not aware of it on 45 but then I've not been looking! I've got it on a 'Sampled' CD from about 2000
Guest rachel Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 (edited) Thanks Rachel. Start Looking!! OK - after a quick search, it is in fact on a single See here, bottom of the page... https://www.puresoul.de/recindex.php?cat=3&...5db&action=45db I only charge a small search fee Edited March 28, 2006 by rachel
Guest Andy BB Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Ahhhh And here is the rub. The question is...Is that the live version?
Martint Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 (edited) Ahhhh And here is the rub. The question is...Is that the live version? Presumably you're after the version on the Kent Comp ('Soul Agents' LP Kent 025)- maybe Ady can confirm its source. never had the 45 so can't help you but I've seen it for 10-15 quid several times, great record (in it's place of course )! pikeys dog Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Got both the LP with the live version and the 45. If I remember right, the 45 is a studio cut and doesn't go into "Wade In The Water" Think the LP is in my Sales Box. I'll pm you the details of condition / price if you are interested.

Yep, 45 is the studio cut. Another good one is their version of the Beat Goes On for mod types.
Guest Andy BB Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 Thanks a lot folks! Rowly - if you're reading this I did try to get you a birthday present, but you're not worth a whole album! I'll buy you a pint and a shark at the 100 Club.

TheBigO Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 Can confirm that the 45 is the studio cut and NOT the live version you seek, which is only available on the Lp as mentioned somewhere above. Great track by the way, not spub since the glory days at 'The Cellar Club' in Letchworth in the late 80's!!!
