Previously unissued track, so no original 7" release...sadly...what a track!

If you like that one, also check out his, 'Show Me The Road; on SS7.

Pretty sure I have this in house on an old ACE CD, not Kent, If it is the one I am thinking of it was out before I started buying CD's so pre 2002 (I know, I was slow!) Will dig it out tonight if noone finds any more info. It was a pretty good CD if I remember rightly.

Yep, it was on the ACE CD "The Monument Years".

"Show Me The Road" is also on that CD.

There are toons then there is Arthurs Stay By Me! I remember Randy Cozens playing this to me down the phone as soon as he had it in his sweaty palms, as we were both huge Arthur fans, and after al,most 10 repeats we were both agreed, the best Arthur song ever. Has it all, one that every true soulie should have and the one that will be escorting me down the slope as I shuttle off this mortal coil! Unissued? What the hell were they thinking.

Arthur remains one of my all time top 3 singers (of all time mate!) with just great soul track after soul track oozing forth. His life story makes a bloody good read too so if you haven't got your Xmas pressie to yourself sorted out yet then I suggest:

Get a Shot of Rhythm and Blues: The Arthur Alexander Story Paperback
by Mr. Richard Younger (Author)

Fantastic yet sad read about one of the great unsung heroes who influenced everyone from The Stones to the Beatles to countless soul acts throughout the years.

Outstanding!!

but I'm trying to think of a duff track that Arthur made.  Aside from the dodgy covers on the Dot album.

It's not easy. Consistent to the end.

Sadly missed.

His version of The Wanderer is pretty fab too.Happy memories of the early local 6T's scene late 70's spent at countless 'Soul Nites' held in back rooms in pubs, church halls all over Letchworth, Baldock and Hitchin. Enjoy!

and whilst we are at it, the first Arthur song I ever heard and made me cry! STUNNING!!!!!

That one unfortunately particularly gets up my nose. Just listened again to check, yep still doesn't do it. Such a waste of talent.

but Hey Ho, different strokes.
