lots of great lps out there matthew and cheap, compared to singles, too

the impressions released some awesome stuff but i think my favourite album is the tempests lp on smash

Fave soul albums Sam Dees - Show must go on and Sandra Wright - Wounded woman. It's a shame the Dees album doesn't have ' Signed miss heroin' on it.

christ i think i am going to cry now, over a juvenile unbelieveable memory,i swapped two for the price of one(a moment whilst i cringe) for the voices of east harlem-cashing in at the casino in the 70s,i am now away to beat the s**t out of myself, fave soul album the hesitations-soul superman.

The Soul Children - Friction - not a bad track on it.

Marvin Gaye Here My Dear prob my fave Mav Lp, urge everyone to get this. You kind of forget about the likes of Marvin and Curtis etc when chasing the rare small labels and alike. Each track is good but listen to the lot as it meant it to be and its a 'soul' lp that has'nt been bettered to these ears.

Westwing LP is great, all pretty strong, puts me in a good mood.

Johnny Bristol Strangers another fella whose lps I think are all worthy of having but this one pips it for me and the missus loves it too which is always a bonus.

Jimmy James is excellent, seen him live 3 times and lucky enough i met him once, he actually asked for my CD to be recorded for him as he said it was deleted so wanted a copy lol. I had to send him it in the post how funny is that a recording artists asks a fan for his own cd to be copied

Harlem Jons Reshuffle is worth a mention. Full of interesting covers of contemporary soul tunes.

Even has a picture on the back of them performing at the Empress Ballroom Wigan before it became the Casino.

Always liked Terry Callier "I Just Can't Help Myself" on Cadet 50041.....very mellow laid back tunes...

Brown-Eyed Lady, Gotta Get Closer Too You, Satin Doll, amongst others.

Bobby Taylor "Taylor Made Soul" Gordy GS942, just for that sublime work of art "Don't Be Afraid"

The Jaedes "The Jaedes" Athena 6002, for a spell binding version of "Color Him Father"

and lastly Spread Love "Spread Love" Sunstar 2901 for one of the seminal 70's soul releases and "Here I Go (Through These Changes)

Brett Franklin........(semi-retired)

Lots of favourites & something i have been buying more of lately, price hikes don't seem to have hit the album market, yet !

But if i was pushed into a corner it would have to be "Artistics - I'm Gonna Miss You", just quality from start to finish ! You could quite literaly play any track at a soul night !!

The two albums I still have on top of my list:

The Fuzz - s/t (so sweet)

Satisfaction Unlimited - Think Of The Children (this one has everything !)

Funnily enough both of them are built up around the same theme
