wendy Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 i'd ask john dunne & danny duggan to play 60s sets. they both dj at sleepless nights, our local in dublin. i'd ask pip to play sometime before 12pm otherwise he would be too sledged to figure out which side of a record he was meant to play. it might seem a bit pointless asking 'local' djs to play when i could have my imaginary pick of any dj in the whole world of soul but those guys always play the tunes that make me happy & have no problems with drunken tomfoolery so that makes them tops! no disrespect intended to all the great djs out there.....i suppose i shouldve included more djs cuz danny & john would be quite tired if they had to dj for 7 or 8 hours hahaha. am i the only person that never has a clue who's djing at any given time during a night out?
Chalky Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 I'd just have the Lifeline crew for the night, doesn't get much better. Next one 16th October

Geordiejohnson Posted October 19, 2004 Posted October 19, 2004 Bloody hell headsy, heres me trying to go incognito by just using geordie Johnson and Ive been rumbled. (I'd make a piss poor spy) Hey bill Swift wasnt that bad and as a young un in the 70's anyone with a box of over a hundred choones was a guru to me. (its the memories you see they are getting faded) Cant make it this weekend but I hope its a good un for Duncan Me and a few of the Barnsley crowd are gearing up to coming up to the next whitley SC doo, Im booking the day off . Can you remember CHAD (malcolm Chadkirk ) I tracked him down in london a couple of weeks ago.
Guest Posted October 19, 2004 Posted October 19, 2004 Firstly my hubby who without his fine taste in music I would still be listening to Radio 1, 2nd Steve Guarnori, 3rd Peter Young, 4th Gary Dennis, 5th Kev Roberts, 6th Soul Sam, thats at least 6 hours of pure soul heaven
Mark Bicknell Posted October 19, 2004 Posted October 19, 2004 Hippo, I take it that was in jest the pressings and CD comment in your original post, if yes then i like your sense of humour........... For me this is an easy question to answer without question Ian Clark by far the best DJ at Yate, and for my money one of the best ever. Chris Waterman.................you naughty man suggesting the double deck idea, whatever next?????? still like Hippo suggested i would only be allowed to play pressings and CD's so would that be ok???????? Still i get the odd booking here and there don't i....oh Chris any chance of a CD player at New Century next year, just to humour Hippo you understand.............. Hippo comment taken in a nice way...... Regards - Mark Bicknell.

Guest in town Mikey Posted October 20, 2004 Posted October 20, 2004 For me it would start off with Dave Thorley, Jerry Hippo Hipkiss, Ian Clarke and Ady Pountain, for my youth. Chuck in Greg, Ady C, Jo Wallace, Dawn and Nick, Johnny T.... in fact every london DJ over the last 10 years for my 'reincarnation on the soul scene. And to end the night an hour each from Pat Brady, Guy, Keb and Gary Rushbrooke playing Stafford monsters. Last track of the evening tho is to be Joey Dee and the Starlighters (Vocal) - How can I forget, so people would be singing that and remembering the night for ever. Woo woo woo hoo
