Pete S Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 I need any red and white Island that you folks might have (except for the soul titles)...also any of the plain white Islands might be of use...I will pay you large spondoolicks or swap for extremely nice northern or dodgy dvd's, you choose. I sold off about 125 of mine last year and I am determined to get them back so if you can help, you're very nice.

CHEERS. SID Sid I already have those I'm afraid, but thanks a lot for offering. I now have about 150 of the releases so it's going ok. Some of the 3000 series, that's late 66 to 68, are as hard to find as things like Rufus Lumley on Stateside...at least I've had 3 or 4 copies of that one!

I still have a Gaylads 3002 in VG+ to Ex nick. No scratches. In '71 I threw 200 or so away when I started collecting Northern originals. Got 'em all from Stockport market for 10p each in late 60's and I thought no one would want them. Doctor Bird,Rio etc. If you wanna come round and give me a good kicking I fully deserve it. ROD

I bought this last night...£128...see what I mean... I still have my Club Ska 67 LP which is on W.I.R.L. with his "Ska-ing West" and I kept that Prince Buster LP on US RCA. I would like the Diamonds version of "Love me forever" but I think that's an early 80's 12" so maybe not your thing. Have you tried Alex Jones, he's got a lot of 60's ska etc and probably some for sale alex.allamerican@lineone.net ROD

There was actually a volume 2 which is pretty rare, I'vr only seen it for sale twice in the last few years, ditto the one that came out the following year, Club Rock Steady 68. I've had that twice but never in great condition.

To be honest I do like the track so would only part with it if it's worth my time getting rid. Whilst I'm asking values, what are these worth? Reggaematic Sounds - Bamboo LP Prince Buster - Ten Commandments LP - U.S RCA Byron Lee - Reggae Blast Off - Trojan Byron Lee - Reggae Splash Down - Trojan

Got a Ex Derrick Morgan - Blazing Fire... what's that one fetch? To be honest I do like the track so would only part with it if it's worth my time getting rid. Whilst I'm asking values, what are these worth? Reggaematic Sounds - Bamboo LP Prince Buster - Ten Commandments LP - U.S RCA Byron Lee - Reggae Blast Off - Trojan Byron Lee - Reggae Splash Down - Trojan Blazing Fire is only worth about £15 even in great condition but there is a weird variation, they must have kept pressing it through 1964 so as well as the original white island label, I've also got it on red and white. Reggaematic Sounds, about £60. Prince Buster £25. Very very hard to sell the Byron Lee lp's, presumably because they are mostly cover versions.
