Some more Marv Johnson - I miss you baby (how I miss you) Steve Mancha - Hate yourself in the morning Johnny Taylor - Zig Zag Lightning Clarence Carter - Looking for a fox The Bouquets - Welcome to my heart
Guest Baz Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Supprised no ones had Betty Swann - Lonely love yet, one of the best records under £20 EVER!
heikki 1 Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 5 Detroit cheapies: Dramatics - Your love was strange - Volt (blue for the 60s purists, orange for the fans of crossover) Capitols - I got to handle it - Karen Carl Carlton - I can feel it - Back Beat Four Tops - Don't bring back memories - Motown Magic Tones - Happy days - Westbound 5 not from Detroit: SOUL - This time around - Musicor Vontastics - Why must we part - Chess Superiors - I'd rather die - Sue Bobby Wilson - Feels good - Volt (forgotten? does it get any plays?) ZZ Hill - Don't make promises you can't keep - Kent (Get it while it's cheap, same backing as the ultra rare Eddie Rey - I've got something of value!) Ender: Ultimations - Would I do it over - Mar-V-Lus Heikki
Guest rachel Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 ) Carl Carlton - I can feel it - Back Beat Nice choice Heikki
Guest dkd Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 My current choice would be; The Five Stairsteps - Playgirl's Love Candy and the Kisses - The 81 Brenda and the Tabulations - Stop Sneaking Around The Miracles - Mickey's Monkey The Lovettes - Little Miss Soul Would also like to mention as a 'quirky' alternative Willie Harper - New Kind of Love and a fantastic ballard Arthur Conley - Put Our Love Together Dave

Guest Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Here's some that are easy on the ears AND wallet: Precisions-A Place DREW Two Fellows-Stop Don't Give Up MUTT Occasions-There's No You BIG JIM The Millionaires-I Thought About You BIG BUNNY The Majors-Down In The Ghetto VENTURE
Guest Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 (edited) Had a fumble through the box & come up with 5 of my faves for under £20 that i (hopefully) haven't mentioned in other threads. & just to be a clever arse, as me log on is B-side-B you could play either side of all five & still go home happy. So 2 for the price of 1 !!! The Sweet - Got To Have More Love / You Can't Win At Love - Smash 2116 Always thought this was superior to "Broken Heart Attack" anyway !! 2 great Blue eyed fast stompers ! The Five Stairsteps - Ain't Gonna Rest / You Can't See - Windy C 605 2 crackers !!! The Chi-Lites - I'm So Jealous / The Mix Mix Song - Blue Rock 4007 2 nice 60's stompers The Admirations - Don't Leave Me / All For You - One-derful! 3257 fantastic 60's stomper & a nice underated mid/slow tune. Jay & The Techniques - Strawberry Shortcake / Still (in love with you ) - Smash 2142 Again, 2 great Blue eyed stompers ! Two others i had to mention because they are so cheap yet so good !! Invictas - New Babe (since i found you) - Rama 7779 S.T.O.M.P.E.R !! & you can easily get it for under £5 ! In fact the reason it is in my mind is that i bought a Promo copy today to replace my stock copy $2 !!! David Geddes - Wise Up Girl - Big Tree 16052 Such a catchy 70's dancer !! I even saw a copy on J Manships for £4 so much better than that price !! Mind you the B side of this one has got to rank as one of the worse records of any genre that i have ever heard !!! It's all about a blind bloke who watches his son sit on the subs bench for an American Football team, & he never gets to play !! But on the night he comes on & scores the winning touch down his dad dies !! & get this, he comes out with the line "Tonight is the 1st time my Daddy ever saw me play" Whatever you do don't listen to it without a sick bucket handy !!!
