Craig W Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 (edited) Had this 45 come today and just love the label design which is so naive. The car from the "gay 50s" and jet from the "futuristic 60s" are so cool.Any other suggestions for totally wacky and unusual label designs. Worth buying for the label alone.

Guest Paul Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Yes, the gay '50s, those were the days! I bet it was all druggy parties, non-stop clubbing and wild orgies. Does anyone have the hi-energy mix of "The Yellow Rose Of Texas" ??? Paul Mooney
soulfulsaint Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 ...always been a fan of Sure Shot with those firing pistols....

Sorry, but the label actually states 'Featuristic 60's' So, not just shocking graphics but lousy typography too! The Devil's In The Detail! Must say though, I don't know the record. Is it any good?
Djr Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 rather strange than great, but it thought i should share with you: pe(e)on productions : Interesting record. I like the stoned out fuzz funk version of California Dreaming on the flip. Might have to give it a spin tonight.

Might have to give it a spin tonight. i think i like that side also better than the snake-side... the electric guitar on california dreaming isn´t quite as annoying as on the flip ; wonder if there were any other releases on the label?

Guest Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 (edited) ...always been a fan of Sure Shot with those firing pistols.... That's uncanny. As soon as I saw the title for this thread I thought of Sure Shot too. It looks like a design reject from some cheap toy manufacturer. It's not exactly quirky or anything but I rather like the Brunswick arrow label design. Edited March 17, 2006 by perryb
Djr Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 That Astro label is nice. Always a bonus when the label has a nice design. Now if only these records had company sleeves.........
