I saw an issue of this on an auction last week, with a day to go, well above the £200 mark.

Has this suddenly become hard to get? When I first started looking at ebay, it seemed it was on there every day going for $50-$60. Now its on an auction and attracting serious money.

What in your opinion would be the going rate on a set sale?

Mike

Maybe it's one of those RCA records that's much harder on issue than demo? I sold a demo on E-bay last year for £110 and there was no shortage of bidders indicating that it's one of those records that people want. I agree, it's a relatively common record, but when did that ever stop people on the rare soul scene paying silly money?

Seems every thing on RCA is harder on issue  or is it just the fact that there are a fair amount of RCA issue collectors? i know of a few, so if your after one for your collection thats mint, depents what you would want to pay, come to the same again it only takes two people to put the price up........even if one is the auctioner/friend ph34r.gif

"Carpet bagger"comes to mind.............

CARPET-BAGGER, a political slang term for a person who stands as a candidate for election in a locality in which he is a stranger. It is particularly used of such a candidate sent down by the central party organization. The term was first used in the western states of America of speculative bankers who were said to have started business with no other property than what they could carry in a carpet-bag, and absconded when they failed, The term became of general use in American politics in the reconstruction period after the Civil War, as a term of contempt for the northern political adventurers in the South who, by the help of the negro vote, gained control of the- administration.

Why would that be relevent to my post?

Did I misread this thread, I didn't think you were setting up a sale?

Sorry, my spare copy is no longer for sale, because it offends Ken and Mikey that I would sell a record for profit.

In New Zealand Carpetbagging is stuffing oysters inside a steak.

No, don't worry about it, I'll get it repaired. I lost the back end of it in the car park at work at 7am this morning, power slided into a big yellow post. Ouch.

Spent all my money on a holiday, and will be going to Germany for a month for the world cup.

Something had to give, and unfortunately Prestatyn had to be the one I missed.

I was ripped off. I paid £8 for mine from Pat Brady.

Mind you he did throw in a White Demo of the Celestrials - Chain Reaction for £2
