vaultofsouler Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Don't know if this has been done before but I have just come in from spinning a few tunes in me hut and came across this one, hit or miss (give it a chance) Hit/miss.... hit/miss.... all I know is it's "old skool".... Like old style "jazz funk or "rare groovee" or "whatever".... pick any genre that suits .... Don't get me wrong.... got loads of this type of stuff from around the 80's stacked up.... bought the imported stuff from a local record shop who's seller/server used to look at me as though I was mad .... What I mean is my weekends were Northern/Rare Soul.... always were and still are.... but my Monday nights were to "chill out" having often knocked work that day.... two stepping with the girls.... oh, I forget.... two stepping is a "new term".... or so my 15 year old daughter tells me .... Collected this as an alternative for ages so I don't dislike it one bit.... Those Monday nights were spent at a local night club called Josephines which played all this type of stuff.... have a few top up beers and laze about ready for work on Tuesday .... used to lend the "resident DJ" quite a few bits he didn't know/have.... some nights were like dancing in my own front room to tunes I could've put on ... Remember waiting for the "blackboard" to come out after springtime saying no jacket required.... as for some reason the owners/doormen/staff seemed to think wearing jackets meant no trouble .... never understood why the "summer" was any different from the "winter" ....
