Played Betty Lloyd, I'm Catching on, At Lightwater the other week to an enpty dance floor!! To me that was madness but sometimes you have to bite the bullit and play what the dancers want to hear. Like it or not that what makes a good dj! STU.

STU. but surely there must be records you like that will fill the floor as well ?...for example if i emptied a floor and felt the need to pull it back i could revert to dusty wilson " can't do without you " which is a tune i love without buying one i don;t like just because the crowd do .. believe me i'm not having a dig at all , you do what you feel you have to but i feel thats why we end up with so many dj's playing the same tunes up and down the country and little individuality and regional variation remain .... just an opinion you understand Davie

Don't get me wrong, i feel ever so lucky to have such a high attendance, especially as we are based on the south coast but when we first started if you didn't play out on the floor and the snake you where F#####! We have turned our club around and can play a wide range of soul now. With the help of the guest DJ we have had over the past 2 and a 1/2 years. If you want to hear the same stuff every soul do you go to just go to Stoke kings hall!! Don't get me wrong i have a great time when i go to Stoke but we need to move on!!!!

Chalky Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 i must be the only r'n'b fan who hates this bloody thing Davie thats cause it's rock and roll over priced IMO as there are plenty of copies around I would have said a while back £250 ABC and maybe a ton or so extra for Home Of The Blues but £250 now over priced IMO, regularly up for sale via lists, auction or in boxes at venues.
Kev Connellan Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 gotta say i've never done that , if i don't believe in the tune i can't expect anyone else to Davie Well said, that man
