Wasn't "Time Won't Let Me", by J C Messina covered up as Bob Seeger & The Silver Bullet Band as well?

Sorry Wiganer imvho it's a pile of the smelliest kind of **** possible. I should know I've had a copy since the mid 70s, bought it in Rupert Street market (London) Bloody Ian Clark, a damn fine salesman :lol: lol Possibly one of the worst records I've ever bought in the name of Northern, sorry mate, still to each their own, enjoy :D

Awful 70's rock. Lots of energy but no soul.

Surely '60s rock played at the time alongside the Mitch Ryders etc. Yeh, good dancer from way before Bob Seagar hit the big time.

And IMHO certainly not the worst played in the name of Soul.

I always liked this record. Whoever it was that mentioned it along with Mitch Ryder is dead right. When I first heard it in about 1971 it immediately reminded me of Breakout and other Mitch Ryder stuff. For the people who don't like it, all I have to say is :Don't you ever listen to the radio when the big phat beat comes on?"

"Heavy Music" is from 1967 and was Bob Seger's last Cameo 45. I like much of his material, but "Heavy Music" is no big fave of mine. "2+2=?" (Capitol), "East Side Story" (Cameo) and his first couple of Capitol LPs are much better in my opinion. Having said that... like Mitch Ryder, The Rationals and many other r&b influenced Detroit/Michigan rockers, I have never sorted my Bob Seger records in the "soul" section of my record collection. It's nice good-time-shout-bamalama rock'n'roll though. :D

Think "You get your kicks" is the best of the lot ,even when that Bob Seeger track was played loud it still sounded to poppy.suprising cause in the 70's he sounded quite soulful. having said that Marks spot was spot on for the first hour and that Peggy Scott track is fantastic :D

Made me want to get a plackard and storm the Whitehouse for invading Vietnam.

Defo not my cup of tea. Maybe some of the swirly hippies that used to frequent the downstairs of the mousetrap would like it.

One of those records you can visit the bar to. IMHO

I've seen this record hanging around for 30 years now and I've never actually heard it until now. I thought it was great! Just the sort of stuff that would have been big in the really early 70's I reckon.

That quote actually came from me Mark, keep experimenting mate nobody can like everything that gets played & yes possibly fitted in with that era. Have to say though that I dug it out last night to see if I'd been too harsh ranting_1.gif can certainly see the Mitch Ryder likeness, just doesn't do it for me.

Cheers mate
