I was just wondering ....How many others on here have partners who collect too.

Not OUR records....A Collection each.....Very hard on the household budget.

Ted and I have a collection each...We don't share them..I wouldn't play his....and God forbid...He would never play mine. There is great nashing of teeth in the household when we both want the same record. Some records have caused mass agro...no retreat..no surrender. We have to have a copy each.

To the constant amusement of our friends...We do trade the odd bit with each other.

For the most part tho, we live in harmony....

Ahhh Steve....No pulling of wool over eyes re: record prices in our house....although It has been tried on a couple of occasions....Would rather not say by whom tho

Being single I'm always open to invitations from attractive young soulettes to take a look at their collections!!

When I lived up north with Paul we both collected ... didn't have separate collections (unfortunately :angry: ) but we quite often went home from a nighter/soul night with the same record or he'd go mad at what I'd paid for something cos he'd seen it cheaper in someone else's box .. no arguing though cos we both liked the same sounds

Just this morning a lady did an order with me..wait for it. One 45 for her, one 45 for her husband, one 45 for her son and aparrently his girlfriend collects as well..all Northern Soul.. covering two generations.. It's a family affair...

Collecting together is fine I suppose...until something goes wrong....who gets custody of the 45's...how the hell do you split them?

On prices...I don't question what he pays...that gives me a free hand to pay what I like.

Me and my husband do have separate collections. When he decides to sell certain record I do have to pay for them . When I have some spare cash and decide to buy a recored he will then say, hang on before you do see what i've got to sell first, most times will get them for what he paid but othertimes have to pay full whack

i cant store my records anywhere safe in my humble home

because for "her indoors" collection...

ALL I CAN SAY IS THANK GOD MY WOMAN DOESN'T COLLECT. HER TASTE IS SUCH THAT IF SHE EVER HEARS A RECORD FOR THE FIRST TIME AND SHE'S HOOKED ON IT ITS ALWAYS 3 FIGURE AND ABOVE PRICE. INBRED AT STAFFORD I THINK.
