Pete S Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 If you wanna hear what this beauty sounds like in all its instrumental glory, go to https://www.6ts.info/music-audio.html Ady as you know, I know very little about music, but I honestly think you should turn that into a mono recording then it would EXPLODE out of the speakers 1

Tony Smith Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 (edited) Great stuff, look forward to hearing it LOUD on Saturday! Edited November 28, 2012 by Tony Smith
Ady Croasdell Posted November 28, 2012 Author Posted November 28, 2012 It's actually the early track of the first vocal Lorraine did for Pied Piper and is taken at a faster pace than the eventual RCA release so we'll have paramedics on hand at the 100 Club for this one. 1

I don't know what that it is but it sounded like it was in stereo, just think it would be great in mono. (I still think one of the best instrumentals ever would have been the backing track to I'll Always Need You by Dean Courtney). 2
Russ Vickers Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 What a banger....fantastic stuff.... Best Russ
Godzilla Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 What a smack in the eye for the inst skeptics!

It's odd you can't always guess what would be a good instrumental from a vocal. Some I was sure would be belters have seemed very empty and others I wasn't a big fan of come out a lot better. Not many make top quality instrumentals because the whole thing was set up for a vocal performance and the dynamics are different. Indeed the Dynamics 'I Need Your Love' doesn't particularly grab me as an inst. I prefer the vocal 98% of the time.

I remember Andy Rix sending me the backing track to Sister Lee by Sam Ward and it was the most boring record I've ever heard! I thought it was going to be great... 1

And of course i was one of the few Northern dancers to include the pogo in my floor work!
Wilxy Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Always great to hear "new" pied piper material....either vocal or instrumental material, cheers for that snippet Ady 1
