Don't know if this is any use Pete but I use this method:

Go to the youtube video's page @ youtube.com. In the panel to the right of the video, towards the bottom, there's a textbox with the title "Embed".

Copy the code from that textbox, and paste it in your eBay description. (In HTML view)

I can't use a youtube clip though Barry, it's got to be my own recordings off that actual record as it's pretty expensive but I need them to hear the exact sound quality

I've never done it Pete but looking at divshare could be that you used the URL code. Try using the long embed code underneath it. May work?

Ah, I didn't see the embed code - thanks!

* and I still can't see an embed code!

You can always try dropbox via it's 'public' folder. That's what I use for sharing music.

Cheers Dave I'll see what happens, just putting some reggae on now

OK tried that, I got the url for it but when pasted it just stays as that, not even a clickable link let alone a player, you still have to copy the text and paste it in a new window as with my divshare files.

Very angry about this because I sussed it last month but now can't remember what I did.

You need to change over to the "html" tab in the ebay listing then paste the embed code in the appropriate place. You won't see the player in the unfinished listing unless you click on "preview", where it should show up. When you list the item and check the listing it should be visible.

Edit: Would be clearer if I said change over from "Standard" to "HTML" tab in the description section of the listing.

This is what I thought I did last time but this time it's not working!

Thanks Sebastian, will try that, just found my previous topic on the same subject but my own rules dont seem to work

I worked out what was up with embedding divshare on ebay.

You have to paste it into 'standard', then click html, then go back to standard and the player appears.

Here's my method, for anyone who's interested, using Divshare.

1: Upload your mp3 to your divshare account.

2: Once upload completed, view in dashboard where you'll see all your files.

3: Then click on "embed" under the appropriate file to take you to the "Audio Skin Browser" page. You can choose the skin for the player and to have playlists, or not, by checking the respective box and then selecting "save" at the bottom.

4: Copy the embed code on the right of the page.

5: Assuming you're editing your ebay listing description in "standard" format, click on the "HTML" tab, to change format, and paste the embed code in the desired location - I usually have the words "HEAR IT" or "LISTEN" already in my template so just have to find these in the HTML code and paste the divshare embed code alongside.

6: Switch back to "standard" but note the player will NOT be visible at this point, then navigate down and select "preview", which should open a smaller window showing the listing along with the player....hopefully in the right place!

7: Complete the listing and list the item.

8: View the listed item to ensure all is well. Make sure to listen to the sample in the player......just in case you pasted the wrong tune.

I think the above is right but stand to be corrected as I've typed this from memory.

Problem with number 3, I don't see an embed button under the file, just

tags/privacy/share

Actually my audio files are not in the audio section, they are just in 'all files, maybe that has something to do with it, can't work out how to move them though

Try clicking on the file name & you get a window saying "playing" where you'll see "embed".

Mine are in audio. All files shows everything in my account including audio.

Hi Pete. The dropbox idea still works but I've never used it on e-bay. For e-bay I upload sound and images to my personal webspace (my account is so old I still have that feature) and include the links for sound and images in the code.

Best,

Dave
