Its

John Manship has this for sale for $14. Craig moerer has this for sale for $15. Both are mint promo copies. This isn't a soul record (maybe it's "northern soul" but I would say no). Please don't end up being one of those people that lists every record in every random genre as "northern soul". Those are the worst ebay sellers. Thank you.

i disagree, some stuff just needs to be taken out of circulation, do the record world a favor

this record was not a terrible rock record, someone would appreciate it even if it wasn't great. but it wasn't soul and wasn't "northern soul".

yeah but it is one of those non-desirable kind of "no mans land" sounding 45s from the early/mid 60s. not garage/fuzz enough for those dudes, not mod enough, not R&B enough, not soul enough, just weak in general. like a 3rd rate beach boys/4 seasons/beatles attempt which flies well below them all. not on the radar for any sort of collector i can think of.

only way to find out is to list it at lowest price possible to avoid listin fees and if it sales thru a couple or 3 times..then its landfill

Please give them away to someone who will try to sell them or pass them to someone who may like them..........loads of people will collect records from you for free to recycle..........

If you are willing to do a little research there is probably something in there, and it's nice that you think before you heave.

Be prepared to do a lot of looking before you find something, or as you've gone to the trouble of starting and you are a demon typist

put up a list here and someone will be glad to assist e.g.

Junk

Junk

2 bob on a good day

Dibs -PM'd ya

$10

etc

As a general rule though they do usually have to be clean -search record grading somewhere

Whilst I don't condone filling up Ebay with acres more garbage, somewhere there is a market for everything we hold to be dross

and you can do alright nickel by nickel

We have about 3 stacks that are 4 feet tall that my father needs removed from hes basement. They are moving to a smaller house , so they need to go they are all from the 50, 60's . Just didnt want to throw them away & doing google to look some of them been having lil Luck . We allrdy sold one that turned out to be good on Ebay and got 5k Usd for it . So just hate to waste something someone would want .

Should i just make a big List of them all and post here or somewhere else ? Just dont want to waste my time typing out 600 - 800 songs ect or If i needed to do it somewhere else. He told me just put them all out to the road. But after one of the first one i looked up was " Soul Incorporated My Proposal " and we got a good amount for it on ebay im happy i didnt . Atleast 200+ of them are Promotion copys or radio copys . They are all in good playing shape and have not found/ seen a single one that is not almost mint. Been packed good all this time.

This is all stuff he had growing up with in the detriot area in the 50 , 60's. He just wants it out of the house and there is just soo much of it

Thanks again all for the time and helping with your input.

Just my opinion but that sounds like a list worth typing, especially if there was a 5k shot in there.

There are several fairly rare local Detroit-area garage rock band records or guitar instrumentals that could bring good money. Maybe he has a few of those? Also, records whose recording was participated in by Motown-related personnel, usually go for more than they would on the merit of their sound alone. Maybe he has a few of those and doesn't know it? It might be worth publishing a list. Some Detroit collectors (including historians and researchers) like to run labels. They might overpay for poorly-made records that might seem unwanted by everyone, just to fill a label run.

We sold Soul Incorporated My Proposal Produced by Cecil Washington on ebay and the person that won it is super happy with it and We are happy to see him get it for hes Collection and not siting in a box in the basement and yes was nice for father to get the money to help with the move also . But yes i will post a List when able going to take some time. Seems the ppl on here know there stuff and might be able to pick out anything with a quick glance for stuff people would want to keep around for later generations Ect. There is not just 45's also stacks of 331â„3 and 78 so much stuff and so lil time to dig throw it all ..

Thanks again all

congratulations. I think there was a thread here about your auction actually. I also think your dad might have collected garage records and you might want to post to a garage rock forum. soul incorporated is a garage record that the northern soul community picked up on, but probably most of the rest of the value in your collection is for rock collectors. good luck!

thinking about it the one listed above sounded similar to the soul incorporated so i can understand why you listed it here  .........might be an idea to list say 100 at a time on here up for any offer that will sort the wheat from the chaff

The best thing would probably be to list them at very low starting prices on ebay. If they're worth anything the collectors will find your listing and bid accordingly. A forum listing will save you fees but you'll only sell those records this forum find interesting. On ebay you'll reach out to all kinds of collectors.

And do list "garbage" too. Some of the records I'm looking for are in that category.
