Tomangoes Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 (edited) Wow first its was ep's, then lps, then 8 track, then tapes, then cds, now mp3s and 4s. It must be possible, if not now within the next 12 months, to put every single recognised tune that has ever been played at a soul night in the last 30 years on an ipod or lyra or the like, the size of a fag packet. 400 tracks per gig, possibly 40,000 tracks with all the northern, motown, b sides, 12"s, 70s, 80s, 90s, etc. 100 gig would swallow em all. Anybody selling such a device with all the tracks as described already on could make them a few bob. Here's hoping. Ed Edited January 27, 2006 by tomangoes
Daved Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 I'm sure it is and there's people who've probably got 90% of it on such a device already. Websites such as Soulclub have got nearly all the well known NS tracks on them.
Guest Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 When it comes to "Storage Devices", i prefer an "Iron Coffin", preferably with steel spikes on the inside.......... Sweet Mother Of Mary....Wrong Forum............
Guest Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 (edited) Back to original post....who cares, original vinyl is the only format that counts....Blah, Blah, get that blonde haired bird back with that fat belt............... Edited January 27, 2006 by Brett
Larsc Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 here's my idea of a high tech storage device! Isn't it a bit tricky to play that on a plane or while jogging ? There is a new technology coming that allows more storage space on disks the same size we have today.

Larsc Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Lars what in Gods name are you on about ? 2 different things. First a reply to the quoted text and then some incoherent rambling about the new storage technology.
