Quite a few popular tunes where the instrumental is better IMHO...........Exus Trek as an example.....

Big one for me though.....the Kaddo Strings on Impact kicks Duke Browner vocal into a cocked hat I think....as does the Tan Soul version of Hey America..........

Sorry if it's been done before........

Yeah I agree some instro' are better than the vocal versions.

One of my faves is 'Milton Wright - The Gallop'

Actually I'm not sure which came first the instro' or the vocal version?, I have a feeling

that the vocal was put on after? Anyone?

loved some of those Modern Instrumentals credited to Arthur Wright Orchestra and appeared on the b of some of the reissues Mary Love, Vernon Garrett and my particular favourite Before Its Too Late.

Gotta love the Music Box Wee oo 'ill let it be you coz both vocals are sh*t.

One step too far with this one me thinks. "As Long As You Love Me" undoubtedly superior.

Also, got to agree with Pete - The Fidels - Try A Little Harder !!!

I think we all need to try a little harder if we are gonna site these as inferior to the Instrumentals. !!

I personally can't choose between Sidras Theme vocal and instrumental, when I hear the one I want to hear the other, and vice versa, maybe someone should do an extended mix!

What about the Castle's Royal Band--The Little Floridy the instro to Claude & Hank Carbo's Fox In a Miniskirt, a great instrumental that you dont hear out nowadays.

inst was played at stafford and not many people realise theres a vocal

Wasn't Little Floridy played as "Herb Ward - Theme From The Forgotten Man" or something similar - you have to Love Guy's imagination, when it comes to "cover ups". Talking of Stafford, does anybody prefer the vocal by David Walker (I think) to:-

Paradox - Ring The Changes - Polydor

Chris L knows Arthur Wright, I"m sure he can give a few facts and insights, I think he ran over an unissued acetate in his garage once

Yep brilliant instrumental that. It's on that Wigan 2nd anniversary tape I posted up years back

One of the top 10 instro`s of them all!

Sidras Theme (End of the World) is awesome....the vocal ruins it.

Peter Hamilton Generation (Hey Girl)....be surprised if there's an argument over that one!!! :D

Must agree over the Fi-Dels too - vocal is better....but still great that there is an instrumental version though...especially when I didn't know...but do now.

Heard the Lou Pride inst the other month, can't for the life of me remember who it was by, and certainly not sayin it is better than the vocal, but interesting none the less. Can anyone post a link up ?

Festival Time , great instrumental the vocal by Laura Lee sounds as though it does not match the music.

Have to agree with you, been saying this ever since I heard it, sounds like they wrote the song to fit the music way after the instrumental had been finished, like one of the first tailor mades!

here's one you don't hear STONEY FACE---THE STAR FIRES great instrumental that was played back in the day.
