Raremusicdirect Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Can anyone please tell me about the 45 (recent issue) and anything about the group etc......... Thanks
arnie j Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 hi kev, hope u are good mate ? dont no anything about the record although except its a great record bud, when u say its a recent issue do you mean its recently made or its a old tune thats just been issued ? cheers jason
Md Records Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Unissued Philly acetate only. Assassins later became "Chapter One" who recorded on 20th Century and Toxsan. There's also a very similar version by the Topics, also produced by underground Philly music legend Wally Osborne. I think Butch used to play "The Assassins" so he probably has the original acetate tucked away in one wing of this record collection. Des Parker
Raremusicdirect Posted November 18, 2012 Author Posted November 18, 2012 Thanks Jason, all good here Des has kindly answered and it was Des I first heard play it at Glouscester. Came across someone with copies recently who kindly threw one is as part of the deal...It could do with a US centre mind :-) Cheers 1
Md Records Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 No offence to anyone involved, but the label on that "reissue" wasn't great, even "Alfreda Brockington" on the other side was spelt "Alfredo" ATB Des 1
