Guest Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Picked up this 12" today one-sided with "DRIZA 1" in the run-out groove sounds like it's the original promo with Dee Heron on vocals. Am i right? Derek

As i remember it Dee Heron left the band before the album was issued and only appeared on the promo of "Real love". Derek not bad for a charity shop find
Val (Chunky) Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 I remember being at Southport Weekender when I first heard this. The DJ did not know what he was playing aat the time all he said was "drizabone was in the runout groove"
Jerry Hipkiss Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 (edited) There was an earlier thread on this choon - here's wot I posted at the time: "The genuine "first" copy was a white label 12" containing short and long versions (labels reversed) with the artist and title stamped on in red, catalogue number BIN 1, and the directive "Eat more cheese" scratched in the runout. Honest! It was sent out by the publishers, based at EMI in Manchester Square, with a personalised letter from Robert Blenman who worked there and was a top guy. That's the one with the best vocals as far as I'm concerned- and it was certainly big on the "urban" circuit in 1990. Well, it was for me, anyway!" The Driza1 promo is via 4th & B'way I think, as "Catch the fire" was Driza 2 - here's the chronological order in my collection: DRIZABONE REAL LOVE 1990 UK WHITE LABEL BIN 1 12" DEMO DRIZABONE CATCH THE FIRE 1991 UK 4TH & BROADWAY DRIZA2 12" DEMO DRIZABONE REAL LOVE (ALTERNATE VOCAL MIX) 1991 UK 4TH & BROADWAY BRCDD 614 CD REISSUE DRIZABONE REAL LOVE (ALTERNATE VOCAL MIX) 1991 UK 4TH & BROADWAY BRW 223X 12" DEMO DRIZABONE BRIGHTEST STAR 1994 UK 4TH & BROADWAY DBCD 1 CD DEMO DRIZABONE BRIGHTEST STAR 1994 UK 4TH & BROADWAY BRW 293 12" DEMO DRIZABONE CONSPIRACY 1994 UK 4TH & BROADWAY BRW 293 12" DEMO DRIZABONE DON'T YOU WANT ME 1994 UK 4TH & BROADWAY BONELP 1 12" DEMO DRIZABONE GONNA HAPPEN 1994 UK 4TH & BROADWAY BRW 311 12" DEMO DRIZABONE LAST TIME 1994 UK 4TH & BROADWAY BONELP 1 12" DEMO DRIZABONE LAST TIME 1994 UK 4TH & BROADWAY DBCD 1 CD DEMO DRIZABONE NEIGHBOURHOOD 1994 UK 4TH & BROADWAY BONELP 1 12" DEMO DRIZABONE PRESSURE 1994 UK 4TH & BROADWAY DBCD 1 CD DEMO DRIZABONE PRESSURE 1994 UK 4TH & BROADWAY BRW 264 12" DEMO DRIZABONE REAL LOVE ('94 REMIX) 1994 UK 4TH & BROADWAY BRW 311 12" DEMO DRIZABONE WOMAN AND A MAN 1994 UK 4TH & BROADWAY BONELP 1 12" DEMO ...and here's aforementioned letter: Edited March 16, 2006 by Jerry Hipkiss
