Not been able to get a song out of my head all day, not sure why as havent heard it in years, think it was a Butch c/up from mid/late 80's? and prob still is c/up lol, pretty sure it was 'c'mon and laugh' or 'go on and laugh' - ever uncovered?

Thanks

Grant

It's his Just Brothers acetate grant"go on and laugh, from the late 80's,Chas & Eileen.

Played before the late 80's. I have it on a playlist of Butch's from 86 and John Vincent had this some years before as far as I know.

An utterly fantastic record it is too. One of the records that you'd travel to a venue in the hope that the DJ (Butch) would play it.

Just Brothers track is superb !

Whats the story with the superb track at 55.18 on that podcast ?

That was a one-off acetate that someone put on Ebay about 4 years ago, when they first put it up they had a full sound clip so I recorded it and kept hold of it just in case I ever needed something obscure for a podcast like this. Uncredited artist. Well done for spotting it because nobody has ever made the slightest comment on it before (in the context of this podcast)!

Tommy Smith. There's a couple I think Pete, at least. The seller was from france and he sold two. Mick H spun this at lifeline about 5 years ago but another mate had it for something like ten years and played it covered up as Gary Hymms, he got it from a guy in the States as far as I know.

This is the scan from ebay that you mention.

Yeah thats the one. Writers workshop, there were a few of these, I had the original songwriter demo of "Marble and iron" except it was terrible. (How did they get an artist name though?)

Thee should be a topic on here somewhere, think it is Rob Wigley who said who it was.
