Wasn't really sure where to put this.

I have come across a photo of the Dewsbury Soulies and wondered if anyone knew any names?

The photo was taken in Scarborough.

I have remastered the photo so looks a lot better than the original.

and before you say it I know the guy 2nd bottom right is the spit of a young David Walliams

Heheh! Thanks. There are loads on there that I know the faces of but can't put names to. I know quite a few of them used to come to the Central back in the day. Edited by Steve Luigi

also the girl on the end right third row to the right of the girl with the white scarf is from Bradford maybe one of Sue Bushbys mates..

All so familiar Pete aren't they? The more you look at them the more you recognise them. Edited by Steve Luigi

The girl with the scarf, directly behind the guy on the front row with glasses and green shirt is Maureen from Dewsbury. She used to hang around with Lesley and Adele frm York

I think the guy right at the back with 2 fingers is called Phil from Halifax, been to the Central recently Steve

Hi Pete

Guy at the back with fingers ( peace sign ) is Jack Kennedy ex Leeds and Hightown lad , believe it or not his dad took me Annie and Jack to Wigan in January 74 cos Jack's mate let us down his Ford Escort was knackered and Jack's dad had a brand new Skoda , his dad sneeked into Casino and stopped all night with the coach drivers bloody hilarious that was.

More names to follow

Is that Nick (Currie) who is now married to Sheila (Fitzpatrick) originally from Southport area that was and now living in Birstall?

Posted

Julian,

That's the wrong Nikki Currie - the one in the photo is Nicky from Cleckheaton, a pal of Paul Smith and Twink. The bloke second from right on front row is Sid from (I think) Cleckheaton or somewhere near by.

Hope you are both well - looking forward to seeing you at Denby Dale in January!

Martyn,

Sorry I thought it looked like Nikki and like Sid. Did see Nikki a few years ago at Alan Richardson's daughter's 21st (do you know him he's from Norristhorpe originally?). Have not seen Sid since about 1976 though so forgive me for mistaken identities!! Don't remember you but maybe you knew my first husband Twink. We met at Central. give my regards to Nikki please.

Hi Steph

No problem it did look like Nicky still see him now and again , sadly Sid passed away a few years ago .Yes I knew Alan and Dave his brother who also knocked about with Ian ( Twink ) Bottomley , bumped into Ian at Brid weekender this year, not seen him for about 35 years or so , remember The Taurus in Huddersfield on Sunday nights and one or two alldayers too with the infamous Frank n Twink deejaying , both had great collections.

Happy days

Hey up Ian

Still got an original flyer for the first Taurus all dayer when you used to list all the top names of the big records of the day , was weird at times going upstairs to get yer drinks and all those guys with pork pie hats staring at you as you went to the bar .

Good times tho

Staying in the general area, does anyone remember this? I know I played at it, but the memory of it is quite dim.

Can anyone shed any light?

And here's the 'Taurus' flyer.

With big tunes from 'Lems Guess' and 'Guy Dariel' :g:
