Northern Soul Uk Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 (edited) I will 100% understand if forum staff delete this thread, but I think it is a good idea to forearm ebay sellers against bad buyers on ebay. There have been many horror stories about sellers being ripped off by unscrupulous buyers, losing money and sometimes gaining undeserved negative feedback in the process. I have attached a link to the site. This list has been generated over the years by other ebay members and has been placed on a public website for all to see and use All you need to do is to copy and paste the list into your blocked members list in your ebay profile, and then all you need to do after that is to add to it, any others that you come across, or add it to the list you already have I think it only fair that members of this forum should have a tool, to prevent some other tool from bidding on their items on ebay which could generate problems for the sellers. Obviously the list is infinitely updatable, so an idea might be to add to your list and then copy and paste it on said site for others to use. Here is the site with the list. https://blacklistedeb...blogspot.co.uk/ Edited November 9, 2012 by Steve Luigi
Pete S Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Steve how many of those were blocked for record related transactions?
Mike Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 why post it here just link to the site that has it already ?
Godzilla Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 And ca you personally verify that they are all dodgy, rather than simply being one half of a dispute? Feels somewhat iffy to me otherwise.
Northern Soul Uk Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 Steve how many of those were blocked for record related transactions? Well, it's not a list about records only, it's a list of buyers that have caused problems for other sellers in the past. But it doesn't matter anyway, it can't do any harm adding them to your blocked list as the list is infinate (no limit to how may blocked buyers)
Northern Soul Uk Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 why post it here just link to the site that has it already ? Good idea, why didn't I think of that?
Northern Soul Uk Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 Good idea, why didn't I think of that? Done!! :-)
Northern Soul Uk Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 Also before the question is asked, if you find a more up to date list, you can copy and paste it into your existing list. Ebay will not add any duplicates and any buyers that aren't registered anymore it will let you know after submitting that they haven't been added. It's a no brainer really, if you haven't already got a block list, you should have.
Des Crombie Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 So what's to stop someone posting eBay names of people they just don't like onto this list? On the face it seems to be something that could easily be abused.
Kris Holmes Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 I need to stop buying records off ebay somehow, I am about to post a couple of my ebay IDs on there

No more handbags an other crap... I'm then going follow that with all the UK record dealers I know so we can get free range of the US Ebay stuff. Surly it would be better for a vetted system to be set up here on Soul Source?

Des Crombie Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 i would say that the only place for such is on ebay be a mug to use any third party system like the one posted I doubt eBay wil ever set up such a list as they normally fall on the side of the buyer. Shame as it would be a good option for sellers if properly policed.
Guest Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 (edited) Pheww! just checked and I am not on the list. Wondered why my records are not selling on ebay, turns out that it's just nobody wants them thats all! Edited November 9, 2012 by Guest
