Spook Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 (edited) The Buyer’s Premium for items purchased via the-saleroom.com is 22.5% inclusive of saleroom.com charges and VAT where applicable. Don't forget this !!!!!! Edited November 10, 2012 by spook 2
Scooterboy Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 I've contacted the auctioneers, a hard copy catalogue is apparently available from the end of this week. I've also checked on the buyer's fees and the response from the auctioneer is shown below. Hi Chris, Buyers commission of 15%+VAT (18% inclusive of VAT) is payable on all winning bids. Therefore if you bid £100 the total amount payable will be £118. Hope this clarifies. Kind regards Paul
Spook Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 (edited) Hi Chris, Not many will be able to attend and it is 22.5% online and 18% in person along with a further 3% for credit card purchases. No extra charge for debit card , that's nice ! Best David Taken from the website: Charges - The Buyer’s Premium for this sale if bidding online is 22.5% of the hammer price (inclusive of online fees and VAT where applicable). For example, if you bid up to £100, you will pay £100 + 22.5%, so £122.50 in total - The Buyer’s Premium for this sale if bidding in person, via telephone or via an absentee bid made directly with Omega Auctions is 18% (inclusive of VAT where applicable). For example, if you bid up to £100, you will pay £100 + 18%, so £118 in total - Credit card payments incur a 2.5%+VAT charge (3% inclusive). There is no additional charge for debit card payments. Mach Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 yep..does seem a tad steep...if you cant get there in person
Kev John Posted November 17, 2012 Author Posted November 17, 2012 Just heard on the grapevine that Mr Kev Roberts & his mate OZ are turning up at this auction hoping to bag a few bargains hoping no one will be interested in the bidding.
nsoul2 Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 You can register with The -Saleroom and bid live online, or just view the catalogue. I use The-Saleroom for buying stuff at auctions and its good, but you have to register a debit card to participate. This is the first time that I have seen a complete soul collection sold through an auction room.
nrc Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Was reading my local newspaper when i came across an advert for a Northern Soul Collection to be auctioned next Thursday 29th Nov at Omega Auctions , Meadow Mill, Stockport. The collection is called The Tony McGhee Collection. Just go to the Omega Auctions website to view more
Liljimmycrank Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Already a post on this in the 'Ebay and sales links' section of soul market on here. would suggest mods lock/delete this thread or it will only proceed to bump in other sections, for something which has already been up for a long time with lots of interest/replies.
Mal C Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 looks good, I liked the tooth on their web site that had sold for £23k.. OUCH!!!
Modernsoulsucks Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Just merged latest topic started on this into here. ROD [Forum Moderator]
pfairuk Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Hi to all at Soul Source, I will be the auctioneer on the day and can promise some great lots for all those bidding (just getting the auction room ready now!) We have viewing days from 11am to 7pm on Tuesday and Weds so plenty of time to view the records and search through the job lots (which in my opinion are potentially great value for money with some little gems hidden amongst them). We hope to make the Northern Soul auction a regular event with one scheduled for March next year so the more that get involved the more likely we are to have more in the future - also if anybody out there has a similar collection or just a few records they would like to sell then get in touch and we can see about including them in our forthcoming auctions. Thanks and hopefully see some of you this week. Paul 1
Gary Brown Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 (edited) Pretty sure people won't have missed this but thought I'd post it in case... https://www.omegaauct...orthernSoul.php It's nowt to do with me by the way. Edited November 27, 2012 by Gary Brown
Paul McKay Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Hope the gradings were better than the ones they sold on Ebay!
Liljimmycrank Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Hope the gradings were better than the ones they sold on Ebay! As in the same collection Paul? Did you buy something from this collection and it was mis-graded?
Paul McKay Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 The ones I "hired" were from Chris Savoury's collection, sold on Ebay. A mixture of boots (sold as originals) and poor condition records. If the same "Record expert" did the grading I would expect more of the same condition wise..
pfairuk Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Thanks to everyone who joined in today, both in person and online. Hope you enjoyed yourselves and your purchases! Hopefully see you again in March. Best wishes Paul, Karen & the team at Omega
