Might have the flip to You Girl on a cd but too many to search I will attempt to add a soundfile of "Will You Be Staying After Sunday" - Wendell Watts, it's not a record I would choose to listen to. Frank Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 I will attempt to add a soundfile of "Will You Be Staying After Sunday" - Wendell Watts, it's not a record I would choose to listen to. I can't get the file to upload. The smallest I can make the MP3 is 2,602kb so maybe that's why. I can email it to anyone who wants it though.

jocko Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Having only heard this on some reissue 45 I think, assume its the same record but my first thought was that this is a truly horrible record (the You Girl side), when and where was this played, thankfully I was at home with carpet slippers that night!! Cheers Jock PS hopefully this is not against thread, not normally one to post negative but I was really truly shocked when I finally heard this record am wondering if I need to try and hear it again.

Are you saying that You Girl is awful? I can't imagine how anybody could say that this 45 is anything other than sublime..have you got wax in your ears or something?

I can't imagine how anybody could say that this 45 is anything other than sublime..have you got wax in your ears or something? Sorry should have rephrased that, its probably very well sung if you like that sort of thing, orchestration is probably very tight if you like that sort of thing, drumming probably very solid if you like that sort of thing, only problem for me is it has got nothing at all to do with soul music, IMVHO of course., Cheers Jock

Reg Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 theres better records for 30 quid never mind 300 Yeah maybe but I'm not talking about price I'm saying it's a lovely record..
Frank Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 send it through Frank, I'll see what I can do chalky@soultown.eclipse.co.uk is e-mail addy I've sent it through to you, although some things seem to be taking hours to reach the recipient. Is there any way that I can make MP3's smaller using Windows media player, or do I have to download different software? Cheers, Frank Driscoll
Chalky Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 (edited) Yeah maybe but I'm not talking about price I'm saying it's a lovely record.. It's not bad but it's not great, wouldn't go as far as sublime IMO. If the record was £30 and not £300 I can still get far better records, soulful or white pop stompers as mentioned for my money . His Kiss A Goodthing Goodbye is far better even though the recording is poorer, damn sight rarer too Edited January 21, 2006 by chalky

Cheers, Frank DriscollHi Frank, I use Jet Audio, best player I've ever used and the only one I've stuck with. This will also convert to many formats including mp3pro which will reduce your mp3/wav to about the same size as real media when converted at 32 or 40 kbps, far better sound quality than real media to. I've mailed you off list Here's the flip that Frank sent through to me.....Wendell Watts Will You Be Staying After Sunday Ref Or Ree.mp3
