Guest Materian WB Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 I heard a superb female Soul/R&B Version of the Gloria Jones classic. But it wasn't the Ruth Swann one. Knows anybody the possible artist? Cheers, Martin
Guest Materian WB Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Thanks, but the most is Indie and Rock. My Version isn't there.
Guest Materian WB Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Thanks for the posting. Could'nt play that clip because there is the musical property right in Germany. I believe the track is more like a Rockabilly version.
Guest Soultown andy Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Theres a rockabilly version by dave philips and the hot rod gang,on best of british rockabillies lp vol 2 1982. Not female thou and definatley not good either.
Andyj Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 The Jezabelles released a version on Pye Disco Demand in the 70s but I thought it was pap!
Ian Parker Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 I hope they got the lyrics right ! I won't listen to that god awful soft cell shamble, for the simple fact 'mincing' Marc sings "if you think love is to pray, well i'm sorry i don't pray that way" ......... since when did Gloria Jones sing that in her tune ? arrgghhhhhhhhh. also, when did GJ sing "take my tears" ? If the pair of clowns had listend to the song properly, maybe the other murderers would have got it correct too. Rant over 1
Guest Materian WB Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 I'm not sure any longer today. Maybe I heard the Ruth Swann version. It was for the first time and on Youtube the track sounds in a different way from the dancehall. In addition I had a lot of beer. Thanks for the replys my friends! Cheers, Martin

Guest Materian WB Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 It was a beer called Koelsch from my hometown Cologne. I like it. You should taste it! The Ruth Swann version isn't so bad. It could be possible that I heard this good version from Duffy: Cheers, Martin
