Tiberius Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Anyone else seen this on ebay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/LOT-of-2-Mother-Plate-5-Ram-Brock-Stamper-Plate-1968-DETROIT-SOUL-45-LP-Motown-/130796360754?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item1e74121432 A little bit of history, they'd look nice properly mounted and hung on the wall if nothing else.
Mick Holdsworth Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Nice, but where did you get Cody Black from ? I only see Don & Joe - unless it's in the writiing on the sleeves, (I can't zoom in any more than the bit chown on the listing) Cheers Mick
Premium Stuff Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 I was thinking the same thing Mick. Cheers Richard

Cheers Richard Photo of the Nashville Phono Matrix sleeve has the record label, RAM-BROCK, along with the stamper (matrix) numbers, 2002A & 2002B, albeit struck through. Assuming the stampers match the sleeve, the sellers description seems to bear this out, then Ram-Brock 2002 = Cody Black - Going Going Gone (Nashville Matrix stamped in the runout on my copy). Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Or am I barking up the wrong tree? Ah, I see it now. I didn't realise there were more than 5 photos. It's clear to see on photo 9. Looks like this Cody Black sleeve got reused for Don & Joe, much like we do with our record covers. Cheers Mick
Derek Pearson Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Mmmm 'tis a lovely little bit of history. The Buy It Now @ $175 is actually a re-listing, he first listed it with starting bids @ $9.98 but got no takers which I'm quite surprised at. Would be interesting to know how the auction house in Detroit actually got hold of the masters and if they've got anything else to come out. derek
