Guest CARL D Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 (edited) Hi there, love a track by Ebony Keyes- If You Knew. I think it's an excellent tune! Wondered if it's popular/played a lot at nighters, and if anyone rates it/knows any details about the singer+songs 45 release? Regards, Carl. Edited October 18, 2012 by CARL D
Simsy Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 (edited) Got an Italian copy not long back, great tune. Available on German pic cover & allsorts. AKA Lee Vanderbilt (RCA, 1976) and Bradford Dene his real name was Kenrick des Etages and he was born in 1935 in the USA but was based in the UK. He worked with Biddu, Jimmy James and Tina Charles and did a bit of session backing singing. As Ebony Keyes he had a small UK hit in the '60s, I think. Roburt Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Born in San Fernando, Trinidad. He's the father of Gary Des'Etages who cut great soul tracks for Fish's First Experience Records about 10 years back. Gary played Prestatyn Weekender in the early days (2004). Plus I seem to recall that he provided backing vocals for one of the big US modern acts who played the weekender -- Ann Nesby ?).
Guest CARL D Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Interesting info'-thankyou all! Must check out you tube clip... Carl.
