AlanB Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Could someone tell me how you distinguish an original promo copy? I watched this eBay sale near its conclusion today, and wondered whether someone got a bargain original, or overpaid for a reissue. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251162605052?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 Thanks in advance. Alan

Sean Hampsey Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 (edited) That looks like the second boot (the first being pressed on the RITA label). This can be spotted at a glance as the Original has a Red 'A'. Never been on Decca though, to my knowledge. UK MCA legit 70's issue but never Decca. It was actually also booted with a Red A at some point (if my memory serves me correctly) but I'm pretty sure, in any case, that the Black 'A' is a boot. And judging by the fact the ebay item made a lot less then £250 I guess a lot of others do too! Best, Sean Sorry Dave, just seen your amendment. Edited October 14, 2012 by Sean Hampsey
Andreas B Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 there's a boot with the red A w/ September Jones - I'm Coming Home on the flip. 1
Sean Hampsey Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 there's a boot with the red A w/ September Jones - I'm Coming Home on the flip. Agreed. The Black 'A' though is definitely a boot. Sean

Alan Thats definitely a boot! Buyer bought a pup im afraid. The 1st 70s boot on RITA was credited to Rubin Parker. Edited October 15, 2012 by Guest
AlanB Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 Thanks everyone for your comments. Glad I didn't buy the pup!
