Lambrettagp200 Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Hi folks. I was looking for a second opinion on the above record please. After checking Manship's guide, the maroon label with silver writing is a boot?!? The original is a pink/red label with black writing?!? It was sold to me as an original & would like a second opinion before i make my next move!! Any help would be appreciated.
John Elias Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 LIke you say,go by Manship's guide get your money back
Guest trickbag Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Come on Train Don Thomas NUVJ 1001a in run out 2nd issue hope these pics help you in some way. ricky.
Lambrettagp200 Posted October 13, 2012 Author Posted October 13, 2012 Hi Ricky. Thanks for that. It's definitely the second picture! 2nd issue or boot? John Manship's book doesn't list a 2nd issue mate! Thanks.
Lambrettagp200 Posted October 13, 2012 Author Posted October 13, 2012 I should also add that the vinyl has lots of little "pock" marks or "craters" in it. (Don't know correct term for these marks!) It only has 1001-A & 1001-B scratched in the run outs.
Pete S Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 100% bootleg. Agreed. The 1975 blue VeeJay 45 is a legit 2nd issue or reissue.
Lambrettagp200 Posted October 13, 2012 Author Posted October 13, 2012 Thanks lads...gonna bump into the sellar tonight & see what he's gotta say about! Bought blind so to speak, because of the guy's reputation!
Guest Andy Kempster Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 what did you pay for it, always a good indicator
Guest DELORENZO Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Come on Train Don Thomas NUVJ 1001a in run out 2nd issue hope these pics help you in some way. ricky. Does it not have on the "Come on Train" side in the deadwax 1 - CS - 3025-A- ??? Rather than above
Lambrettagp200 Posted October 13, 2012 Author Posted October 13, 2012 I paid £60 for it mate. The deadwax only has 1001 A scratched in. From memory i kinda though it was around the £100 mark in m- condition, so £60 for ex+ was okay. As i said, i trusted the seller from his reputation. However, we all make mistakes & maybe it just slipped through the net?!?
Guest Gogs Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 orig demo has 1-cs-3205-a- very small run out. "B" side has cs-3205-b scratched in. hope this helps.
Lambrettagp200 Posted October 14, 2012 Author Posted October 14, 2012 All sorted out last night without any drama. Faith restored in the guy & money back no problem. Thanks everyone for their imput.

I reckon half that price and £20 more for a white demo...and if your seller is as experienced as it sounds, he should have known what he was selling!
