Hope I've done that link correctly You can't really blame the seller can you? It's up there for all to see.

I bought a Poets "Two hearts" offa the guy and it was Mint and fast delivery so Im not gonna knock him.

fosland is a member on here now. I can't believe he seriously thinks this is a genuine original so the conclusion must be he is doing this on purpose  .

It's sad to see particularly as he makes them private auctions so I cannot e-mail the bidders to tell them

Come on fosland lets have your rationalle for this one.

Why is it that only CERTAIN items on his auction are private?

Beats me to think that he's received bids of $102 for it as well!!!

Yes, but when you look at his feedback, you'll see that some items are still private (even after the auction's closed), and some can still be viewed.

Problem with this is, everyone can see its a goldmine re-issue, yet they still bid!

I know there are some real suckers out there, and these are the ones that get caught. They really should know better, but they don't and so really this is just robbery by someone that is exploiting the uninformed and stupid. Gives the soul world a bad name, and pisses me off, to be honest.

It's a private auction, more likely the seller is bidding it up himself. Funny, and a very clumsy ay of doing it.

It's not yet 7 a.m. for fosland but I've PM'd him to let him know about the thread and asking him to explain.

I guess we wait to hear from him.

 Glad some one else can see it too James.

there is a few reasons why he would do this, but dont think i could post them up with out solid proof for legal reasons

Oops........cheers Baz - just realised my error!!

Another thought - So was Eddie Singleton regularly in the habit of using Goldmine/Soul Supply to distribute Shrine records in 1966?

Im not sticking up for the guy BUT I don't really see that much difference between this and the hundreds of boots that fetch "big" money on Ebay such as Mel Britt,Rose Battiste etc. OK, they're now harder to get hold of but a boot is a boot and unless it is misrepresented it is the buyer's choice whether to bid and how much. There's a picture of the 45 whereby it's obvious it's a re-issue. The only difference in my mind is that say Mel Britt was done years ago and this relatively recently.

Whether it is taking advantage of the "uninformed and stupid" we have no idea of Fosland's thinking. It is sensible though to have some idea of what you're doing in any activity.I just had a bill for £500 from the garage cos the dilithium crystals had clogged the gear box and I couldn't get warp drive!!

Don't mind anyone selling boots/re-issues etc, and geting silly money for 'em, as long as they declare, clearly, what they are. If someone then wants to be a fool and pay a ridiculous ammount, then they have more money than sense!

The item in question, is obvious to those 'in the know' but some uninformed people may be caught, as it does not state re-issue etc in the listing . I know it's always a case of 'buyer beware' but a bit more of a honest description would avoid problems

....I thought they were all burnt in the Washington DC riots when Waxy Maxy's was burnt to the ground - great to see this one survived and in such pristine condition....

Looks like this one never even made it to the warehouse - someone rescued it from the pressing plant before they got a chance to punch a big hole in it!

C'mon, I'd like to think if someone's going to bid on a Shrine 45 then they should be able to tell the difference between a UK re-issue which clearly states so on the label, and a US original...

Good Morning 9:43 am in the Big Apple. Everyone knows that the records on Shrine Label with the little hole are re-issues from the UK. I use to have Buy It Now and sold a Satintones record for $10. I thought it was a re-issue. There are many records that are 1st, 2nd, 3rd and even 4th pressing that are very hard to tell. If you notice I have a record up on the Master Label which I believe is a 2nd pressing. I have a record up by the Smith Brothers and no questions thus far. I have explained in some past postings on here the reason for my Private Auctions. On eBay you can not bid on your own items because of the IP numbers. I notice many in the UK have their Feedback Private. Freedom of Choice. People are allowed to ask a question on my items. I do not answer any foolish statements that I receive. Especially from people that never ever placed a bid. Most of you Wanna Be eBay experts just want to eMail my customers or they want to know what they bought in the past. That is not the reason for my Private Auctions. Read my Description and you will know why. If anyone gets a record and is not 120% happy and has a good reson they will receive a full re-fund.

Any questions feel free to send me an e-mail. My Addy is on my Website www.fosland.com

Calm down! I doubt very much anyone has been sucked in. He will have bid on his own auction, and as it's private you won't be able to see that.

But if you are all worried someone should be a 'masked avenger' and stick a massive bid on it and win it but not pay. That'll cost him money and save the world from his evil schemes.

So why is there no mention of this being a UK 2nd issue of recent years, in your item description.

I sell so many items on eBay and since the min bid was:

Seller status: Your reserve price of US $19.99 has been met.

Why would I want to bid up and item and lose my eBay privalige. I mentioned earlier that there are Customers who bid from their Job so there wives do not know they are spending money. That is one reason why I respect their Privacy.

If it sold for $19.99 so be it. I paid 6.25 pounds sterling for it. Which is nobody's business. Everyone knows there were no small hole Shrine records made in the U.S.A.

e-Bay is accepting Job Resume's. The wages are small to keep the Fee's low.

I get many eMails from Wanna Be eBay Police.

Yes, if people are going to buy things like this they should get themselves informed.. but phrases like "rare" (when it's not by any stretch of the imagination) and "AS YOU KNOW THE SHRINE LABEL IS ONE OF THE HARDEST LABELS TO FIND." in the description strike me as pretty misleading to people who aren't clued up. As someone said, some people already spend silly amounts on reissues/boots so there's really no need....

You cannot assume that EVERYONE knows. as my mum used to say "to assume something makes an ASS of U and ME" Would it not be better simply to state "Reissue" and avoid any possible confusion???

As you are an ex-member of the NYCPD I would have thought you would understand about giving accurate evidence!
